Was this a proper play by either of us? I'm still unfamiliar with Omaha, so I won't be surprised if I find out I played this wrong. |

| Well, although you've got KK you're basically getting all-in PF with a 3-card hand. |

I'd need a read here. KKxx is fine all-in against the typical range of a complete maniac. However, if this guy's been solid and still raises out from early position, I'd probably just call for pot control and re-evaluate on the flop.
Also with no reads I'm not thrilled with the re-raise by him either. |

| I don't think you played it all that well, but A55A55IN played absolutely horrible. He has a hand I like playing a lot but with that much action I'd probably just call your reraise preflop and look for a huge draw or my set. |

I think his re-raise is where I have a problem at. I'm not doubting I may have played it horribly, as I'm just getting used to Omaha Hi, so I know I'm bound to make many mistakes.
My other question is why not try to get all your money in preflop in Omaha with something like kings or aces? This is probably my hold'em background talking, but there are still very few hands that could beat it. Is it not good to move all-in pre-flop because Omaha is such a drawing game? |

Well in Hold'em, AA and KK are very strong hands, and big favorites against any other hand. Also against multiple callers they hold up a much better chance of winning a multi-way pot. In Omaha, AAxx and KKxx aren't nearly as strong of a favorite preflop, and fare worse unimproved in a multi-way pot.
If you can get it all in with AAxx preflop, then go for it. Heads up it will be the favorite (except for rare occasions.) Plus you can't be outplayed on the flop since you're all-in. It's much better to be all-in preflop with AAxx then to see a flop and then grossly overplay AAxx on a board that didn't hit you well (which many beginning players tend to do.) Just expect being all-in preflop to be high variance since you aren't such a strong favorite.
With KKxx, it tends to be more opponent and stack based. For example, many people in that hand history you posted would've flipped over another KKxx or AAxx hand against you. That tends to be the range of most people 3-potting you OOP. Even in this situation, your edge was equivalent to having a AJo vs KQs matchup. If you're short stacked, then I say get it all in. With deep stacks, you'd have to take your opponent and your current situation into consideration more. |

| Neither hand is worth putting all your money in preflop, IMO |
