sorry i was all pissed and closed the screens out so i do not have the hand history, but i ASSURE YOU, the guy REALLY played this way.
$30 9 person, 4 of us left
i have 1700, the BB has 2500, chip leader has like 6000, other guy has like 2k
i have KK UTG, i raise from 100 to 350, EVERYONE calls
flop: 5 2 8, i go ALL IN for 1,350 - the size of the pot, they all fold to the BB
he INSTANTLY CALLS AND SHOWS Q 10, so im happy
turn : 9
river:J
and im out in 4th -- now seriously WHAT THE HELL could this guy have been thinking? anyone? theres always some one that wants to be like "well his odds were such and such" I ask you, what logical human being calls half his stack with Queen high, NO DRAWS??? |

OK, it's definitely a world class bad beat, and your post flop play is fine. I do question your preflop play. With those stack sizes, your raise was gonna get called by the blinds and that only leaves one other player, right? And you don't know what the button had, as he folded, so it's not out of the ordinary necessarily that you got called pf.
As for his call of your all in, it's a really bad play, and nothing to be done, but lots of players will make speculative calls to cut the small stack. It's really a bad play with cards like his, but you see it a lot. Was he suited? 2 on the board? Or one at least? |

Your preflop raise is fine, I think - 3.5x BB. You could raise a bit more, but nothing wrong with what you did. As for him calling you on the flop - wow....  |

Nope, with only 4 people left, and those stacks, that was far, far too small a bet. Only in a ivory tower vacuum would the standard 3.5xBB be sufficient. Under these circumstances, he needed to make it at least double that. |

no he was NOT suited, and the reason i only raised to 3.5x the BB is because i was the short stack and i wanted one caller, not 3!!! FOR about 15 minutes every 350 raise was being folded all around or ONE player called, ONLY MINE got called by everyone -- if i had raised twice the normal raise no one would have called and 150 wasnt enough money to get me back on my feet. and torgeaux as far as your "ivory tower vacuum" comment -- seriously you are a loser bro. you stalk my posts and try to talk smack and criticize with some nerdy ass metaphor. God forbid you just wrote "well i think you should have raised to 700 at least" -- like a mature, polite person might have done. You are one of these people that will talk all day long because you are on the internet and u can hide behind your lord of the rings wallpaper but will never have the balls to back it up. Perhaps you would like to play me in a heads up match? im SURE you will wuss out, which is confusing because apparently i play as if im "in the ivory tower vacuum" and you should be able to take me down no problem. Please, dont waste your time arguing back with me, just type "yes" and the type of game u would like to play.
and torgeaux, u may disagree with my pre flop raise --- but you HAVE to admit him calling more than half his chips with Q high is INSANE, he cant even beat a bluff
and P.S. torgeaux i HATE wasting my energy on our arguments, as im sure you do -- so can you do me a favor and either NOT respond to my threads or at LEAST try not to be a jackass when you do. Id gladly do the same for you, and i think well both be happier..... lol |

Gee, sorry to disappoint you there 24, but you aren't important enough to stalk....sorry. If you are going to make 119 posts in 3 weeks, well, you'll find me responding just by virtue of your spamming the boards. I think if you'll read my post in response to YOUR post, you'll find the sort of thing you were looking for. The ivory tower comment was for Jaconda, who was parroting the "3.5xBB raise" line. My comments about your play were in my previous post.

How about "No" instead? I don't do the HU SnGs as a rule, and I really, really don't play with people who annoy me, especially immature brats. However, feel free to name search me on line and join the SnGs I play. Oh, and you really did come off as tough there, it worked. That tough guy routine is a winner for you.

The only jackassery here was yours. My reply to your post was entirely based on its merits, without comment about you or insult. You on the other hand failed to do the same. Re-read them, then maybe post again. You'll find this, for example:

First, go back. Look at my posts before you started chest beating. You find an implied insult to your play in the ivory tower remark. It was specifically because of Jaconda saying "3.5xBB" which is exactly that, ivory tower, by the book commentary. I noted my objection to your raise in my post about that. I still think it was too small. No insult, just a critique of your play.
I'm not aware of any ad hominem attacks on you, although I have responded to your insulting posts in a like manner. I criticized your excessive posting in a thread about, guess what, your excessive posting. My comment about your post count is only where relevant, in this case, the "stalking" comment. If you post excessively, you will see more responses, seems like an easy connection.
Seriously, point out the "childish" part of my post. Anything? I wouldn't have used Ivory Tower in response to Jaconda if I'd known you'd blow a gasket. |

Actually, I think ya'll should keep it up. I understand how it feels to the two of you, but seriously, this sort of thing is fun to read. Um, please don't attack me. It's no fun, I just curl up into a ball and cry
Anyway, I agree with you. If people are folding to 3.5BB, then you didn't want to bet anymore, or maybe they fold around and your hand is wasted. And you WANTED to go against this hand. Bad beat. Shake it off and wait for the next one. |
