I think this is a great new option....
I swore off playing for tokens but this will make it definitely profitable.
Also, if anyone takes their $4.40 all the way to Tier 3 money, make a post you studs......
I'd like to see how many people climb all the way......... |

| Really though, this has been around before, FT just made some new tournaments and flared it up some. And there are more profitable plays as well. Take that 26 token and play a garuenteed. If you win that tourney you can make over 100x your starting buy in. |

Thanks, saw that later. THis was just the 1st thread I'd opened upon logging in. Knew about those though...seems like extra chances for them to take your money, to me. |

We did get an e-mail at feedback@fulltiltpoker.com from someone saying he enjoyed the new tournaments, and that he had turned a $6+.60 entry into $300+ after winning a $69+6.
doogie is right, as the big parlay could be turning the token into a MTT win, or even into a seat at a $10k event... |

I'm not sure about this. It felt like such a good idea when I entered. Turned my 6.6 into 24.2 and then the 24.2 into a 69.6
Now I'm stuck. I'm terrified of playing the 69.6 and getting nothing after two really good games getting there and I can't do antything else with the token.
I really wish I'd played normal sit-n-go's and got cash for the wins not tokens

Well the coin is good for as long as you keep your account going, so maybe down the raod your confidence will build to a level where you can play with it.
Or just go for it. Sometimes the best learning experiences can be when you seem to be outmatched. Who knows, maybe you're good enough to hang at that level and just don't know it. |

| I like the idea of the new 6.60 for token. I have played several so far, but cannot stand the play in these. The gameplay is so slow! When it gets down to 9 people the gameplay everyone just slows down. Every elimination after that it gets even slower. It is like the bubble in any big tournament. The few that I have played have probably lasted 1.5 hours. |

I chose the 'just go for it' option. It was probably the most adrenalin filled game of my life. Came second for $186.30 All from a $6.60 entry. So guys it can be done by a lucky fish |

I agree with you Lawing, they take way too long when people play that slow. At that point I try to start playing agressive because there are so many blinds to be stolen because they only want to play when they have the nuts. So it can be profitable in some cases, but it can also get really annoying. So I guess it really depends on the people you are playin with. |

You wanted to know if anyone started with $4.40 and I thought I would let you know that I climbed to the third tier and finished third. |

I love the gameplay being so slow. I mean its easy to move people off better hands when it gets down to the "nut cut".
For example I was chip leader with about 10,000 in chips with six people left in the second tier. I was on the button and everyone folded to me. I had pocket three's and raised trying to get the blinds, and the big blind (who had about 3,000 in chips) called my raise. Flop came out 5, 7, A rainbow and he checked it to me so I bet. Once again he called and the turn was a J. He checked once more and I moved him all in. He let his time fold it for him and told me he had aces.
So if you loosen up your play with few people in the tournament you can pick up some pots, and let all the low stacks blind themselves to death. |

My thoughts are:
1) Sure, you CAN turn $6 into $100+, but over how much time? 3 tournaments is like, what, 4-6 hours? Ouchie. I'd have better odds of doing that in a cash game, I fear, and w/o the aspect of playing with all my money at once.
2) As someone said..once you have a token, full tilt has your money. And...it's up to you to try to turn it into more or go home. Traditionally, in gambling, places make the most money off people trying to turn little wins into big wins, so I'm leary of these in general.
3) LONG odds on this. This ties into point 1...but lemme put it another way. We've all had 1-2 bad beats get us out in tournaments. It happens. It's luck, to some extent, and you shouldn't BS yourself that it's not. I won 2 small tournaments in real life last night, but I gotta admit, I'd be $50 poorer if my J5s I went in with hadn't flushed up when I called. He had AQo. Yeah. So anyways...like I've said in #2, you're letting full tilt keep your money hoping on a few cards breaking your way over a few hours, rather than playing cash games or a series of lesser ring games, where you can limit your exposure. There's a bad beat thread up in here where a guy lost with K-high flush to a full house on the river...ouchie. I'd prefer not to have 4 hours invested in that hand, personally. |
