The $4+.40 SNG tournaments aren't for the WSOP..... they're for a $26 tournament entry chip. First prize is the $26 token (which can be used as the buy-in for any $24+$2 tournament), and second prize is $10.
There are, however, $24+$2 SNG satellite tournaments where first place wins an entry into the Nov. 8th $200+$16 Winner's Choice tournament. First place in this tournament is a $12,000 prize package, including entry into your choice of either a WPT event or a WSOPC event.
The $24+$2 SNG tournaments for this are listed in green. Click once on the tournament listing and the description window to the left should read "Satellite to the $200+$16 Winner's Choice tournament on November 8".
Hope that helps! |

| Thanks for the info. Do you think it's worth going into the 4+.40 vs the 24+2? |

| If you're good at SNG's, the $4+.40 SNG's are a good value. You only need to win one of 6 to break even, and if you place 2nd in any of them, bonus. |

| I must say I dont totally agree with $4 SNGs bein that great of value. I find myself able to grind it out to 2nd or 3rd in traditional sngs, even if im not catchin many cards. If I make a pre flop raise with AK, and catch nothin, I can still pick up the pot and maybe make middle or bottom pair fold their hand. Not in a token sat. SNG, guys play their play any piece of the hand they get, and play it hard. Plus raises get no respect, and stealing blinds is nearly impossible. But if you are catchin cards, you can knock out 4 or 5 players at a time. Thats just my two cents worth. |

| If you dont think they are of any value you have to adjust your game. You are obviously one of those robot type players that plays the same no matter what game you are playing in. Change your strategy and any game is worth the buy in. I love the 4-.40 sit and go's because everyone is usually terrible. It an easy buy in to a guarantee tourney which are a great source of learning multi-table tourney poker and a great way to win some money...ive played 3 guarantee's and ive been in the money 2 times...i dont consider myself good either, but they just seem to be an easy tourney to beat... |

They are an easy game to beat IF you are catchin cards. B/c if you get good cards and hit flops, you will take big pots and be able to cruise to the top two. However, if you are not hitting flops, or not gettin dealt quality cards, the $4 SNG is much to lose to use plays like the semi bluff, because you do not have the odds. Plus blind stealing, (which in my opinion is one of the most important parts of a tournament), is nearly impossible. And I hate to bring up suckouts, but when I have either been all in, or put someone all in for most of my stack, I have been a huge favorite, and gotten nasty beats. (AA vs TT, QJ vs J 10, AK vs KQ)
My only point is, I have always heard a good NL holdem player can play well in tournaments even if he is not catchin cards, just by playing the other guy. IMO I think that any NL player would be hard-pressed to finish in the top-2 in a game this loose while they are catching cold cards. |

A good player's worst enemy though, is a bad player.
If he's calling down your bluffs, and getting lucky, then he can't be beat.
Have to get a hand and cram them. |

Thought I might chime in, in addition to the $4+.40 single table satellite, we have added a $6+.60, double table satellite.
The top four places get a $26 token, and fifth place gets $4.
I think there are a lot of players like Pokit2s who just don't like the winner-take-all format, so this should be a good place for them to earn a token. |

Poket2's is right, there is a lot of loose play in the small dollar SNG. But, on the other hand, you get a lot of play for next to nothing. If you adjust your game, don't bluff much early, be patient and get a good hand or two, you will be successful.
It is a good place to work on reading opponents.
See you there

It's tricky to win these things. The one I won, the practically handed me the $26 token. I my monsters and nuts got paid off so much it was insane.
How I did for Tier three was kinda funny. I regiesterd with my $26 token but then I logged off to update my browser. When I logged back on I realized I forgot unregister and the blinds were at 25-50. I just played my low stakes a game I became a leading stack. When it got to the final 8 we all played like rocks, even the smallers stacks. As two more people got eliminated. I was in position to get a $76 token but I needed one more guy to bust out. A few hands later... Ace Queen felts Ace Nine. Even though the the final five got the same prize the tourney kept going so we all pushed every hand a the hand so we can end the tourney.
Nice experience. |

Because 5 people goin all in at the same time is so much fun! By the way Doug, good call on the $6 two table satellites. I won a token from there, won another token at teir 2. I am playing in a Tier 3 SNG right now sittin 2nd in chips. Still early though, we'll see! |

You go.
That's exactly right. Patience is the best virtue in these things. You'll do fine by basically sitting on the sidelines until you get down to three or four players and then turning on the aggression late, when everyone else tightens up considerably. |
