Jesus inspired me, so here I am.
I've been playing for 5+ years, and just started to come into my game, when Neteller took my bankroll. Took me 5 years of grinding from the micros to triple up, and I made it to the $1/2 limit w/a solid game. Oh well, back to the play chips.
I've always managed my bank along the lines that C.F was recommending and it seemed to work out (started 2006 w/my original $500 and tripled). The biggest (money management) hole in my game was when to get off the table. Up 10% of your bank seem to be a good time to leave, regardless of how soft the table seems.
Then I found out that a million play chips are worth $10.25. Hah, back in the game.
I'm gonna see if I can top C.F.'s $365 mark (for 14mos., if I read that right). Should be able to do that by the end of the year.
Wish me luck.

i just picked up a $700 6th place finish in last night's 12k guaranteed, bringing me, after a few days of losses, within striking distance of 3k. Not bad from 0 in December. Smile
I did also withdraw almost $300 to cover a traffic ticket and some RAM for my gf's laptop. When I pass 3k, I'm dipping in for a monitor upgrade for myself. woot!

That was a commercial sale of PS chips. There's a few places. Google it.

I'm actually very surprised how long it is taking him to get through this low-stakes part.

Take away the 9 months that it took him to get 22$ from freerolls etc, he has had 5 months to work 22$ into 365$.

Maybe he just doesn't play very often and that would easily explain it

I think his biggest problem is that he keeps buying in to Razz and HORSE tournaments. He must have some serious leaks, as he is getting crushed at them. If he stuck to NL only, he might be there by now.

really i dont see why all the fuss, he can play whatever cards he wants to play, whenever he wants to play them. and if patience is a virtue, that you just dont pocess, dont gamble. i deposit a few bucks every now and then. ive gotten 50 buks up to 600 900 and 400 or so a few times, but i allways seem to give it right back. need to grind harder, i think. lotsa whinerzzzzz here though, then again i love to call with crap. to kill em, just hate to hear them whine

no doubt the biggest thing for this is BRM. no matter how good of a player you are , if you dont have management you might as well not even deposit. i have a problem with this , bc i will have grinded out about 25 to 30 above what i started with, then i will just go off on a bluff and lose it all. it soo sad. im trying to get a process with my self where if im up 25 above what i started with then i quit. but its way harder said then done, bc when ur on a talbe with a bunch of guppies you dont want to stop. and then that is the thing that kills you bc when you think that you have them they have you. you MUST learn to control your playing time and you MUST give your self a process of when to stop. if you can do those things, i really do belive that you wil have a very good pleasureable poker experience.

I loaded my account with $110 5 weeks ago. Over 3 weeks I lost it all - bad BR management, but in the process got lucky and won a $26 entry token. I read Chris' article first week of May, actually on my birthday, and then used the token to enter a tourney. Finished in the money, won $61 and have applied Chris' rules to my own game. I have doubled this amount - $133.71 (with $2 + 0.25 in an SnG as i'm typing this) over the past 3 weeks. I play both SnG's and cash games.

Because I am using only 5% for each buy-in I am not going to bust out in a hurry. 2 days ago I had a shocking run. Played 7 $2 SnG's in a row and didn't place in any of them. Thats over $15 gone, but it didn't break my bank. I took a break, jumped back into it the next day - with a clear head - and made something like $40 over yesterday and today. Not 1 buy-in was over 5% of my BR.

As mentioned earlier, patience is the key. You can't go all out in the first couple of games, hoping to make $1000 straight away. You might get real lucky and good on you if you do, but I think once you get there and play those higher limits you won't have experienced the "foundation" games it took to build a Bank Roll. For me, i'm not worried about the time, I love poker and I could play 15 hours a day. But looking at it, it might take me 12 months, or even, more until i'm up to $1000, but at least I know, with Chris's sytem, I won't go broke in the process.

Hey everyone, im brand new to full tilt(as of a couple days ago), as i've been looking for a high quality poker room. Im really intrigued about Chris's experiment, and since everyone else is sharing stories i figured id give one of my own.

I've never felt comfortable depositing money online, just too many bad things that can happen, so originally i played with playchips, then freerolls enabled me to play real money on another site. I won a freeroll on that site for about 20 bucks, and over the course of about 3 or 4 months, turned it into 2.5k. Unfortunately you cant withdraw unless you've deposited, as im sure it is on this site, so I couldn't ever get any of the money out, and recently that site was sort of shut down for US customers.

Anyways, im trying to pull off such a feat again, with what i consider more difficult competition here at full tilt, but have only managed to get into one free roll, which was earlier tonight(those things fill up fast! lol). I applaud anyone who has already started or already done it, as it does require a great deal of discipline to pull off. Anyways, good luck with the experiment Chris and everyone else!

Good luck everyone. Chris Ferguson is a little above $750, and is up to $10 tournaments now (he played a Razz and 7 Stud Hi/Lo a few days ago).
