Full Tilt Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $0.50/$1
6 players
Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with K A
UTG raises, UTG+1 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG caps, UTG+1 folds, SB calls, Hero calls.
Flop: T 3 8 (14SB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, SB calls, Hero calls.
Turn: 5 (8.5BB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, SB calls, Hero calls.
River: A (11.5BB, 3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, UTG bets, SB calls, Hero raises, 2 folds.
Uncalled bets: 1BB returned to Hero.
Results:
Final pot: 14.5BB
UTG had been fairly loose aggressive, and had earlier tried to check-raise bluff me off my KK. SB had been fairly tight. I think i had the correct odds to see the river with my 6 outs. i found it kind of funny that they both folded for 1 bet in such a huge pot, but i guess if you think about it it's pretty unlikely i'm bluffing there. i put the UTG on an overpair and the SB on some sort of ten.

| I'd guess that UTG had a much worse hand than you think. LAGs just don't fold a real hand for 1 more bet on the river all that often. A player that has a ten in his hand after that pre-flop action isn't what I'd consider tight by the way. I think I like your line though. On the flop I don't think there's any way you can fold for a single bet, and once the SB calls on the turn you don't have to worry too much about him which makes it more likely that you're drawing live here. On the river a checkraise allows UTG to bluff if he has nothing and SB to call where he might be more likely to fold to a bet from you. |

| yeah you're right, UTG probably had nothing. but i can't think of what SB might have... maybe he had a flush draw with a weak pair and was hoping he had the UTG beat but decided there's no chance he had me beat. i was just so surprised by the 2 folds. |

| Pocket nines seems like a reasonable hand for him to have if he's a bit weak. |

| Yeah 99 makes sense for the SB, as does a busted draw. I think UTG has the ultimate preflop capping hand: JTs |

Why would a busted draw call a river bet though? |

Good point, I really should read more carefully. I thought sb had folded to the single bet. |
