|
|
Three or four times now, when it's heads up at the end of a single table SNG, I've come across players auto-folding to any bet. Most of the time, it's when I have a decent (8 to 1 or better) chip lead. After several hands of this, they usually jump back in for an all-in pre-flop raise.
What could be the possible benefit to this? Do they think this is some kind of trap play, that I'm not going to notice their raise and will accidentally call their all-in? Is this a variation of sitting out when on the bubble? I haven't lost a tournament because of this, but I find it a rather perplexing strategy. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks. |

| Are you sure they are auto folding, or are they just playing really tight and waiting for a monster? |

Positive they are auto-folding. Their cards are being folded simultaneously with their posting of the small blind.
I thought the same thing...just playing really tight. But after a half dozen hands with no change in speed of fold...I could only reach one conclusion. (Of course, I could be wrong, which is why I threw this into the forum.) |

| I can't really see any stategy here other than they give up, then happen to see a huge hand and uncheck the fold to any bet box. I don't know man, seems kind of silly to me. I have come back when heads up with just under two big blinds left. |

| I have done this before.. and when I did it, I was just sitting out on the bubble and forgot about the table.. then came back when it was just last 2. I'v only one once when I came back with a big disadvantage though. |

Why would you sit out on the button? That can only hurt you! |

| autofolding on the button during heads up play is just dumb in my opinion... i'd rather raise than autofold, especially if i were short-stacked... |

| If you guys read his post you would see that he said he "only sat out on the BUBBLE" and not the button. |

i agree this drives me nuts....4 players left in a sng and no one playing a hand execpt for the chip leader who is raising each pot. just this week i've been in 3 of 4 sng's that one or two the last 3 or 4 players were sitting out ...folding to any raise on bb.

I actually honestly mean to say bubble, not button - whoops!
However, the question stands - why would you want to sit out on the bubble? It can only hurt you!

| i actually think these people auto fold so you will think they lost their connection or their computer froze & then u start raising with everything since they are auto folding, yet when they pick up a decent hand they reraise, ofcourse sometimes people actually do freeze & lose their internet connection. |

Only, if you just pay attention and don't raise it when it shows they are back then that won't happen. |
