I thought of this one a long time ago. There should be a low-ball mixed game called BRAS.
(B)adugim (R)azz, (A)ce-5 draw, and 2-(S)even draw |
You cannt use S, that is for stud, use D for Deuce-7 draw. |
but then its brad and not bras |

I always want to pet the cat in Spig's sig. "Aw, cute kitty! Who raises?" (petting) "You do!"
Of course, I've been known to pat the p/ssy on more than a few occasions.

| HORSE is a good game cuz it shows your true skills as a limit poker player.... |
FYP
So many people that I've seen play HORSE make so many NL moves in a limit game. It's extremely profitable for those that know how to adjust.
I love playing horse because I can make that adjustment, but I'd like to see more games added in and don't have an acronym for it. Just games that switch every 10 hands or whatever in a cash game and every blind level in tournament. I'd like to see all those are games mentioned in this thread added. Badugi, 2-7 triple draw, 5 card draw, Chinese would all be a fun addition.
Even though I lost a lot the last time I played Chinese, I felt like Hellmuth playing Ivey...how did I lose so much playing $1 a point? |

we should just add every poker game in existence and form a word and game for it |
Could just make a free for all tourney similar to how we played poker when I was a kid playing for chips and bragging rights. Each player takes turns being dealer and calls the game for a single hand. (Which might be 5-card draw, 5 or 7 card stud, lowball, etc.) We used to have a lot of fun calling wild cards too -- deuces, suicide kings, one-eyed jacks, and the ever popular Doctor Pepper (2s 4s and 10s where you fold anything less than 4 of a kind) |

| theres plenty of ways to tell what game is being played. its in the middle of the table they post it in the chat box and what hand is the bring in. theres not much more they can do short of callin your house to let you know what game is being played. it all comes down to paying attention. which brings up the other thing that frost my nutz. the arguements about hittin a card on the river in razz and stud. the hole card is switched with 7th street unless theres a all in. i see this just about every horse tourny. poker is all about paying attention gl eyo |

| The fact that you can mess up and be playing razz when its stud is why i like horse catch people doing that and its going to be a nice pot for you. mixed games are usually set up so that you can mess something like that up if your not paying attention i think thats the point. |

The difficutly I have is when it changes from Stud to Stud Hi/Lo, and the "blinds have increased" message is covering the text stating which game it is. I find myself trying to wait for the "blinds have increased" message to disappear before I act so that I know whether I am playing the last hand of the stud hi round, or the first hand of the stud hi/low round. But often I'll time out before it fades. |

| The game is also listed at the top of the screen, so if the "blinds" pop up blocks the game on the table, the game list at the top is what you are playing. Cheers |

When I'm playing multiple tables of HORSE I always change the background on any table which is currently playing Stud hi. Since razz, Stud hi and stud 8 are all dealt the same but two of the three involve low hands as well it's easier to distinguish when it's on Stud and only hi hands count. By the time a table is back to Stud 8 you should know it's well past razz. If it's really causing you problems then don't play as many tables at the same time.
And yes I know the OP is very old so don't bother pointing out that we're all replying to an old post. It's still valid. |
