Did I make a stupid call here with the nut flush draw? I put my opponent on trips and was correct? I am still learning omaha also but what would everyone else here have done? Thanks for the feedback

| Well, if you put him on trips, then you should already know the answer. Fold, because the odds aren't correct for you to draw. However, I'd also recommend not playing NL omaha. They don't even offer that game for real money, because everyone knows that it is a joke of a game. Try playing PL omaha from now on. It will also make it harder for people to price you off of your draws. |

Fold. Your odds of cracking a set with teh flush draw arren't any better than in NLHE. The pover of the draw in Omaha is that you could put him on bottom set and you caould have Top 2 Pair + OESD + flush draw, which is ok to call, or with Wrap plus flush draw. Also remeber than unless you really know what your oppoenet has it is not a good idea to draw to anything less than teh second nuts. Say the board is Q9s2s, and you have JsTsxx he could easily have QsKsQxXx and you are just about dead unless ur xx are part of a wrap. That is why you don't want to play marginal hands in teh first place and always want to be drawinf to the nuts with BOTH the str8 and flush to try and crack a set. Think about it in NLHE terms, would you call off your chips against someone you put on a str8 with just a flush or a str8 draw (I hope not... unless you're sitting to my right ), but if you have an oesd and the flush draw, then you can be right to gamble. |
