playing omaha high,
2 players
player 1 has Ac,5s,2s,10d
player 2 has 10h,Jh,4d,3c
board is 8,8,A,8,5
does player 1 have 2 pair, or full house?
does player 2 have trip 8's with J-Q, ?
who wins, and why? thanks for replies

Edit: Ugh I feel like a donk!!!!! Player 1 has trips A kick and Player 2 has Trips JT kick... I feel so dumb

They both have Trip 8's as a final hand.
Players one's A kicker would win the pot.
You have to use 2 cards in you hand and only 3 on the board.
That is where the confusion sets in from time to time. |

Just to help clarify a little more the final hand for both players is:
Player One: 888AT
Player Two: 888JT
Player one wins. |

You MUST use 2 cards from your hand. Obviously the 888 board would play as 3 of your 5 card hand. Then you would take the two best cards from your hand. Any pair within your 4 cards would give you a full house. (in this example no one has a pair in their hand... therefore high cards play)
Player A can not use 888A from the board, and the A from his hand for a full house because you MUST use two from your 4 card hand. |
