Anyone care to comment on the hand below ? Did I do the right thing ? Should I just have called pre flop and hope to hit trips ? I was pretty sure he had ace-rag when he reraised me (which turned out to be correct) but was the all in the right move or should I have laid it down ?

I like re-reraising all-in better than just calling the reraise, committing you to the flop anyway (I've actually seen people do that). I don't know if I'd put all my chips in jeopardy early in the sng, with just JJ. But you did have the best hand. So good job.
A8o? What's up with that? Maybe he thought you were pulling a fast one. Kids now in days think everyone's pulling a fast one, all the time. It gives them an excuse to push all their chips in with marginal hands. They also love calling all-ins with weak aces, because they saw someone on the WPT do it once.
There’s another play kids do. They’ll flop a flush draw, and instead of folding to a pot size bet, they'll raise big, so then they have to call the re-reraise. They’re not getting the odds, so they’ll raise, and create the odds.
Kids. Pfffft! |

My wife and I decided you're officially "old" when you start saying "kids these days".
But you're right.... kids these days (and even older people!) are playing a lot more weak aces.... a lot weaker suited cards "just because they're suited"..... I swear "but they were suited" will be written on some people's tombstones... |

| You had your money in with the best. That's all that matters. Don't be so results oriented. |

First, you have to be results oriented in a tournament game. He did not have the option of pulling 20 bucks out of his pocket to continue playing. That is why it is generally a wise move to lay down what you think is the best hand when you also think it is only marginally better.
But in this circumstance, the jacks were better than a 2 to 1 favorite, if he was right that the other guy was playing a weak ace. If I felt strongly that he indeed had a weak ace I would have done the exact same thing in a $24 single table tournament. If you decide to fold to his reraise then you're going to be sitting there watching this guy shove his money in over and over. Taking your stand when you're 2 to 1 to win is a reasonable decision, even if early in the tournament.
Now, put me in this predicament early in a multi-table tournament and I may feel differently, instead chosing to lay down the jacks (or perhaps not raising with them in the first place).
And btw, I liked your initial raise to $350 from the bb, with so many limpers, though I wouldn't do it every time I had jj in the bb. Sometimes I'd take the free card and hope for a set, or rags on the flop. |

you cant be results oriented for the fact that ppl suck out all the time, and if you take a bad beat in a Sit 'N Go, you can be crippled/knocked out. i would be happy if i got my money in w/ a 3-1 favorite (not 2-1), so dont worry about it. Jacks will hold up 70 percent of the time in that spot. |

| No, even more so in a SNG format, you can't be results oriented. You're put in the same situation all too often. This is player dependent at the 22s, it's about 50/50. You have plenty of room to still lay it down this early, but most people at the 22s are doing this kind of play. |
