I think playing low and middle suited connectors is art form every player has to develop. For me, the two driving factors in playing LSC's and MSC's are opposing player styles and chip stacks (mine vs theirs). If it looks like I'm getting involved in a pot against a loose/agressive/or stupid player, I'm not going to play them agressively. I'll limp in, if I can, and be prepared to dump off if I don't hit. These hands are too easily dominated.
Second, chip stack plays a BIG factor. If I think I'm going to have to risk more than 15-20% of my chip stack to run a bluff when they don't hit, I won't play them agressively. Also, if I have a monster chip lead, of course I'm going to play them agressively. But I'm playing all live cards agressively at that point.
Also, I agree that this is a much more effective strategy in a live game vs. online. These are tricky cards to play right and it's much easier with the better reads in a live game. |

| If the stacks are deep enough, I love raising with small cards. If the flop comes low cards, you're opponents will not figure you to have hit the flop, and if it comes high cards, they'll give you respect and allow you to bluff. Some players though, overuse these raises, and although they can prove useful I only mix occasional raises in with these hands, they are simply too low to play frequently. |

I just looked up on Cardplayer.com what hand has the highest chance of winning out of 45 suited, AJ off suit, KQ suited, and AK off suit.
45 is around a 33% chance of winning I believe. It's because the opponents share cards (and alot of times if you get called by 3 people preflop when using my raise strategy, you'll be against hands like AK KQ AJ, but some people re-raise AK.) |

| interesting idea with raising with suited connectors, problem is you have to hit the flop hard (two pair, made straight/flush or the draws), i dont like to raise with king-10 off in a tight game for same reason, has to hit hard or could be dominated. on the other hand, with ace-king/queen top pair is likely, or even just ace-king high, and if it is not the best hand it is easy to tell (like with an apparent lower straight). but i like the idea of mixing it up. |
raising w/ suited connectors isn't such a bad play if you are at a tight table, but if you sit at a loose table, it isn't the smartest thing to do. if you get called, you need to either hit or bet your opponent out, so i would only raise w/ these hands if i were in position (which gives me the best chance to take the pot postflop) |
