*** RIVER *** [8d Ad Ts Jd] [Kd]
HuJwang bets $1
Swezil folds
i'm pretty confused as to what he might have had. only thing i could think of was J9 for the straight draw. though as i played longer i realized that the guy was a complete calling station, so he could easily have had as little as a gutshot or a pair of tens or eights. weird hand but oh well. |

Here's the question though-what do you do if he raises?
My point is you gained nothing by betting. He didn't call. You risked an extra bet in the name of "value" betting with a vulnerable hand. |

well he might have called with 2 pair, a straight, or a worse flush. if he raises i probably call because there's a good enough chance that he either thinks i'm bluffing and is trying to steal or has a worse flush to justify calling his raise |

When I play at a casino, I play limit. I find river bluffing to be a rare occurrence.
I agree you would have had to call his raise. It would suck if he turned over a better diamond. IMHO the lead bet at the river is a wasted bet as he didn't pay you off (Unlikely he is calling with two pair on a four flush board). If he's a smart player he's only going to pay you off with a weaker flush and raise you with a better one. |

well it's a heck of a lot more likely he's got a weaker flush than a better one so i think the bet is worth it. plus, since we have no read, he could be an idiot who would call with weaker hands. and if he's a smart player, he knows that he has no read on me so he's also more likely to make an information call |
