the most important thing in building a bankroll, idc what you say, is NOT TILTING. iwas tilting badly after about 3 badbeats in consecutive hands. i am not 1 to tilt easy but i did. i got down to 125 bucks and got so frustrated and joined a 55 dollar sng. now, i ended up winning this, but forget the winnings, i could have easily lost all my profits in 20 minutes. ( i was down to 400 chips and made my comeback to get 1st) but the point is tilt is the most important thing in building a bankroll as it took 1 week to break 325 bucks, 20 minutes to almost lose it.

For FTPs look at http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/fullTiltPoints.php

And no: You can't win anything with play money. Wink

You could try the freeroll tourneys at FT.

I just want to say that I dont think a bankroll is ever safe unless you have at least $500... I had $360 before, and lost it all playing mostly $5 sit and gos. I wasnt a good player back then, and the only reason i had that much was bc i got lucky in a $24+2 MTT and got 8th place. I have since built it up to $860 to have it fall as low as $420. Right now, it is $700. So as you can see, even by playing the small stake $5 games. You are likely to go up and down before you keep going up. Of course, if you play 9 handed games, then you probably wont be going down so much, but playing 45 player tournaments, it is harder to money on a consistent basis.

I keep track off all my poker play. I mean everything! If I can make $5 per hour at .25/.50 NL, should I be able to move up to .50/1.00 NL or even $1/2 NL (when confortable) and make the same money?

the general rule of thumb is every level you move up, EXPECT to halve your win rate since there are better players. I hear this affect begins above the .25/.50 level. So at the .50/1 level you will be playing for double the stakes, but win around the same $ as at .25/.50 because of tougher competition.

Also, a LOT of the fishies (easy $) are gone since they can't deposit, there are a fair amount of sharks at the lower levels feeding on each other right now.

Heres my question, I like playing the 5.50 SNG's on here, I dont have Rakeback, and i dont think that they will ever let people who are already signed up recieve rakeback again. Do you guys think i should stick here and play these without rakeback or try a site where rakeback can help me continuously build my bankroll?

I started with 20$ online and I've made 5K in a year and a half online. Never redeposited once, but I continuously cash out because I use the money to pay things like car insurance etc.

Therefore my bankroll stays under 1K usually so I stay in the lower-ish limits.

Yes it is possible.

So that explains those $1 Fergursons Tournaments.... Heck I'm even interested in those.

You do need the skill, and i think a lot of players have the skill. What they don't have is the time and the patience to grind out the micros before building up enough to move to the next level.

And i agree with Notorious' analysis. A lot of low and micro limit players can't deposit anymore, so now all of the winning players are left at those limits and its tough to eek out a profit. Most of the bad players have gone broke and have not bothered to redeposit because it is too inconvenient now.
