I don't know why so many people on this thread are treating poker like it's some kind of monster that screws you. I've been doing Ferguson's thing and I'm on day 26 and at $1150~. All it really takes is persistence. If you play your A-game all the time and know when to walk away because you're just not playing well, you should be ok.

If anything one of the biggest problems I was having was I wasn't staying within my bankroll. I've noticed a lot of my friends that play continuously lose money and never drop down from pride. You have to be willing to be honest with yourself, not headstrong to the point where you go broke and need to reach into your wallet again.

I havent exactly done Fergusons thing. I did get fed up at the beginning of last year of only having around $100 in my account. Everytime I got more I took some off. So I decided to see how far I could go. In Feb. of 07 I started with $29. I have withdrawn $2600 and still have $1200 in my roll. I earn Ironman every month at the .25/.50 level. I have read Theory and Practice(a must for any serious ring game player), and I have done ok at some tourneys as well. My biggest tourney win so far is a 3rd place finish in the Gold Freeroll for $1700.

When you play that much, you see a lot of different things. Poker is definitely a game of streaks. Some good, some bad. Through it all though, the odds always work themselves out. If you lose money online, its your fault. The best thing you can do is examine your own game and find the leaks. Poker Tracker helps a lot with the ring game stats. I can see the things Im doing wrong. When I lost $800 playing 6 max tables, I could have blamed a bad run, but instaed I switched back to full tables. The swings are less, and I can rely on my cards and not just my own genius to profit. Very Happy

Just stay within your roll and dont get in a hurry. If you win fast, you can lose fast. Just be patient and make positive EV plays. If you need help finding out what those are, there are some good players on here that Im sure would be willing to help. Good luck with this guys!

this site is a rigged joke then control the success and failure you will have by setting you up in certain situations.

Example- feeding you KK when the player two seats down from you has AA

this site is terrible and is a fraud.

Right! And I make my money because I make bad decisions and get rewarded.

Its amazing that people really dont know how far off they are. Laughing

When I got into the free rolling madness on other sites when I first started poker I noticed a lot of players constantly moving all in on the first 5 hands or so, hoping to double or triple up immediately.

One of my favorite strategies in free rolls back then was to immediately move all in with KK/QQ/AA (I haven't tried for a long time, but I suspect free rolls are still all in madness for the first 4 minutes) if I was lucky enough to catch it within the first few hands.

I would estimate I got called atleast once 80% of the time and even sometimes more, where I doubled and tripled up. Of course, there were times where I did take some beats, but you can never get too mad about getting your chips into the middle with the best hand.

I cant tell you how many times I would move all in and an opponent called with like KK vs K10 or QQ vs Q10 and especially with AA vs A2-J or something ridiculous like that. It was a neat trick I thought of when I was dabbling around with hold em, hopefully some of the guys trying to navigate through the 2700 entrant madness can use this if you don't have a viable beginning bankroll option.

You already have some good replies here. I started in freerolls. I've never put any of my own money in online poker. When i started on full tilt Oct. 2006 I won a $15 in a freeroll played micros until about $25-30, at which point i played sngs. I prefer 6 man NL turbos, theyre quick and not too difficult if you know the strategy.

I also played limit ring games where i discovered a passion for limit hold em. Because I knew bankroll management, I played within my bankroll and was able to build it up over 5k since then. Ive also made money at live events from my online winnings. As far as what can be verified I just use the sharkscope amount for online.

Hope this helps

Well, i dont know if the site is rigged or not, and probability i would not have sure

but I make undergration in computer area, and i know this:

the trusted site can give the algorithm to the persons, and NO ONE would be able to know what card will be generated, the random card...

when a software give this, i will be sure about the trust.

Chris Furguson did it $0 to $10,000 you can read about it in mike craig's blog . I have'nt yet but I have a good tip if you want to try. Freerolls like the poker after dark are a good start. win entry into round 2 twice and the second time e-mail fulltilt they give you the 100ftp's( Sad think they ended). I use them to win $26 tokens to play in bigger tourneys all free. I still play freerolls but haven't won any since it went to 2700 players those 900 ones rocked.

when i started I deposited 50$to my account, and after a big loosing streak on the low sng tables i only had 3$ left, i played one last sng (2+0.25) and won, then i decided to play a 5+0.5 tourney and I won that aswell, now im up to about 1500$ and I only play 10 and 26$tournaments, and havent deposited since. so i got my bankroll from 3 to 1500 playing low lvl sng. Ive tried my luck at cash games, but its my experience that u should stick to one, cuz i just doesnt seem to be able to win in cash games.

I deposited 250 8 months ago, played low limit sng's until i had about 1k, then moved to cash games, and have turned it into 10k. I just lost 2k in the past week takin some rough beats at 1/2 NL. But have dropped back to 50/1 until i get my groove back. It is very possible to build a good roll up, just a lot of skill and patience. I think it will be easier if they ever start regulating it in the united states, most of the money comes from beating bad players, and sng players trying out cash games. They are very short lived when u find them now, because it is harder for them to reload. about 90% of the players at .50/1 NL and above are very fundamentally solid, and i dont think ur getting a edge that beats the rake unless u catch them tired or tilting. But that will change if they let the donks start depositing again. Ive recently run across quite a few foreigners that really dont have a clue how to play, I hope to take advantage of them while I can. Glad that fulltilt is recruiting some newbs for us to feed on.
