You may all notice that I am not holding a tournament next Tuesday. I have decided to take a break from the weekly tournament for one week and come back on February 6th. I am going to try and get the word out a little bit more and hopefully increase the field for the next tournament. Anything you all could do to help would be great as well.

Thanks to everyone who came out to play last week. It was a pretty charged tournament, with 2006 PoY Keating and this year's PoY leader renosfinest leading the way in table talk. It's always fun to get some heated rivalries going.

After a three week drought, Keating (aka JackDrinker) finally broke through and not only made his first final table, but won his first tournament (second overall) in 2007. Keating got a semi-early chip lead and never looked back. Taking advantage of his overwhelming chip stack, Keating applied constant pressure just as the blinds were reaching substantial levels. Renosfinest nearly took the chip lead when he was all-in preflop with AQ vs. Keating's JJ. However, the JJ held up and Reno was out in 5th. From there, Keating managed to slowly but surely eliminate his competition to take the win.

The trash talking between Keating and Reno didn't stop there, however. The two talented poker players went back and forth for the remainder of the tournament, and to my understanding, afterwards on MySpace.

I hope you all can make it out to the next tournament on Feb. 6th. I'll be there doing my best to keep both Keating and Reno out of the final table. I need to catch up in the standings...

Next Tournament: Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. PT (10:00 p.m. ET)
Buy-in: $10 + $1
Type: NL Hold 'Em DS
Private Tournament ID: #12315999 at FullTiltPoker.com (pre-register today!)
Password: pokerbling
Bonus Prize: One poker bracelet of your choice! (in addition to regular prize money)

My plan to get a little publicity for next week's event has been shot down. Apparently it's hard to advertise anything having to do with online poker...

I'll still do what I can to spread the word, but my big marketing effort doesn't look like it's going to go through. Hope you all make it out next week anyway! Anything you can do to spread the word (thus decreasing your chance at winning a bracelet...haha) would be appreciated!

I would love to see the field reach 30+ for next week's tournament. The more people that come play, the more points can be won!

I've decided to put up a poll regarding the buy-in price for my tourney. While I would love to have a freeroll, FullTilt unfortunately does not allow just anyone to run them. Let me know what you think about decreasing the buy-in to $5. Think more people would come? By the way, lower buy-in means half as many PoY points according to the scoring system...but if we can double or quadruple the field, it will more than make up for it.

no leave buy in alone or raise it. don't lower it. It has to be worth our while to spend 2 hours playing.

I'm pretty happy with $10+1. Disappointed that there's no tourney this week, maybe I'll have to go play a S&G to hopefully win next week's buy-in.

Sorry I had to cancel last week, but the next one is only a day away now. I hope you guys can make it out. I've been itching to try and win my second bracelet too.

had a great time getting first bracelet. Not sure why more people aren't playing this tournament because when it catches on its gonna be huge. That's my prediction anyhow. See you next week.

Too bad I couldn't play this week. I'll be back next week to face the donkey brigade (Membership: 2 (renosfinest and Keating).

oh.... this was a poll wasn't it.

I don't think you should raise the rates of the tourneys. There are plenty of beginners in these things and upping the stakes would scare them off. I say keep it fun and a little profitable with 10 bucks or risk losing your field of players. $20 is the absolute highest you should go.

Thanks for coming out for the last tourney. Good job at finally winning a bracelet smacky! I've actually been sick the last two days, so I haven't been in the office and haven't been able to send out your bracelet yet. I should be able to send it out tomorrow.

I just heard back from Full Tilt about allowing freeroll tournaments! Turns out I can host a freeroll if I put in $25. I haven't decided yet if I want to do that at some point...$25 and a free bracelet adds up! ...but I'll consider it.

Maybe you could remove the password..

or spam all the 10 buck tourns with the password..

or if you can, on the tournament registration screen, include the link to the forum post with the password.

Good for reno he has two bracelets but that doesn't make him a good player (these are still 18 man tourneys). I've seen his cumulative sharkscope charts... matches up exactly with the kind of chart i'd expect from his style.
