Anyone care to share a little kitchen secrets on pre flop raising? I usually (not all the time) raise with decent aces (suited, with baby cards or paint, no middle), also with premium hands from late position with lots of people limping in (to build a nice pot) or with marginal low draws (A4, 23,...) from earlier position (to thin the field).

Last night I played a tourney and was doing pretty well, I had a firm grasp on all the players on my table(s) (at least that's wath i told myself Wink ) except one guy who raised EVERY pot preflop. Usually a guy like that goes broke after half an hour, but this guy kept collecting chips in a way that had me puzzled. It didn't take long for him to gain control over the chip lead. I finally found a play against him, which was to raise him preflop and thus bottle his aggression, but it still fascinates me...

Any of you guys had any luck with such a strategy? Raise no matter what your hand and then let the flop decide wether or not to push your hand?

When you're up against an aggressive omaha hi/lo player, simply wait for good cards and call him. Once the flop hits, and you've got the nut low or great draws, keep reraising. Pick your spots though, and be patient.

I will usually raise pre-flop depending on my position. Hands that can give you the nut high and a low are great hands to bump up.

You'll also learn not to raise the low in certain situations because you can end up splitting your money with another person with the same low.
