Then if we want to swell the prize pool to attract more players, all the better. I say make it one big tourney, then try to get those with connections to pass the word to a red pro. |
I'm pretty sure we've been through this already. I do like some of the new ideas though. IMO we would do better (for the charities) to have a monthly tournament like the Cancer Charity tournaments. Looking back in the thread we all nominated several charities. If we have a larger buyin, why would the password have to be private? That doesn't make any sense........the more people the better. |
mz buns, sorry if i missed it, but how have we been through this? now Ill admit I didnt read all the old pages, but from what I did read, it seems to me you have 40 different ideas here, when I say be in charge, i mean just decide already and do it. please enlighten me ...
edit: when I said "pass the word", i meant try to get them the info through the grapevine as it were, and attempt to get a commitment to play. pass the word, not password.
edit #2: do you need to borrow some midol? |

Granted, this has gone on for way too long. If it's one large tournament, it should be super simple. Orignally (if I'm not mistaken) we were going to have a series of tournaments. Rick was going to get it together and I assume from his latest post, he is. Getting everyone to agree on which charity, might be deadly lol. Miss, does that enlighten you enough?

| Why cant it be up to you? This clearly needs leadership, someone step up and lead. That was my entire point. Good leaders don't sit around and say "that's not my job", they take the initiative when they see a need. Like I said, when/if this actually goes somewhere, I'm in. |

You know absolutely nothing about me. I'll give you alittle clue...I was in management for 25 years. The "it's not my job" is not in my vocabulary. I'd say "you do it" but noooooooo I don't think so. |

Wait, you don't finish work at the end of the day and just wish you could put those skills to use? You don't look for opportunities to impose your management style on others at every possible opportunity? Are you seriously telling me that poker is just a form of leisure for you? WOW

Then I'm not telling you anything, bunz. You seem to think I'm attacking you personally, Im not. I was saying that "someone", you or one of the others who has an interest in this, should step up and take charge and help rick get it done. He clearly has a lot on his plate. My point was that you are just as (now you inform me, more so) capable of being that person as any one else. Or we could all throw out random suggestions for another 6 months and get nowhere....
If Ive offended you Mzbuns, I apologize, that was not my intention. |

Another brilliant post Fire eyes. Typical, when you cant defend your position, you attempt to discredit the source. I shall await more of your sophistry with eager anticipation. In the mean time how a bout a music video- This should be your theme song :

Rick is in charge of this charity series. He'll decide specifics. And if he needs help from anyone for anything, he won't hesitate to ask.
If you want to "be a leader", go ahead and create "one big tourney"... no one is stopping you.
I can't speak for buns, but I'm not inerested in creating my own tourney for a variety of reasons. One of which is what you touched upon... "connections to the pros". I don't have any. Thus, am not interested in raising $50-$100 for the charity of my choice. I'd rather just donate that on my own w/out a poker tourney.
I know you and many others want to see this get off the ground, but be patient... once this series gets going, it will be very successful, I'm sure. |
