| I know how much animal rescue needs money, I adopted 5 dogs and a rabbit, The vet bills for a sick animal are bizarre . i had one diabectic and one went into kidney failure after giving birth 2 days after she was here. no one knew she was pregnant because she was found tied to a tree in the snow.the pups had to be hand fed. But you know what i thought i was helping her ,That darn dog gave me more smiles the nine months she lived than anyone could ask for. I love animals and would enjoy playing for a charity related to them. |

I'd like to play in this kind of tournament for charity. I dont care which charity, as long as it is helping other people or animals. Thanks for making this tourney, rick. |

| Did we do a poll to see if it would be better on Saturday or Sunday afternoon? |

Bump...
Any news on when this will start Rick? Also, as my previous post states, perhaps a move to Sunday afternoon/night? With MBJ Season 3 ending in 3 weeks, perhaps the 20:00 time slot could be filled with the Charity series for its run. Hopefully people wouldnt be too opposed to that. |

A Saturday afternoon/evening would be SO much better for me, as I can rarely do Sundays due to working on Mondays!
Btw, loving this idea...I think an animal charity like WWF or RSPCA would be a great charity to support in these tournaments. |

I agree with a poll. It would help increase play.
I hope this goes well, it is a great jester on fulltilt's part
to have these. Thanks Rick for your help and support.

Bumpity Bump.
Is there time to fit this in now MBJ is outta the way?
Is there a sensible way of organising this so that money goes from our rake fees to the charities or does it have to go through someone's account? Gypsy, you organised a charity tourney in January so do you know how it works?
I'm about to run into a lot of spare time so I don't mind looking into some of the charities people have suggested to check we're not funding the KKK.
And as for timings, do people want saturday/sunday & afternoons/evening? Post a few suggestions for time and then our resident pollster can do his thing. And any other charity suggestions put them below and I'll have a look. |

My suggestion is to donate at least some funds to an animal rescue organization. One that I know that is always in need of money is the "nycacc"; their myspace page is: http://www.myspace.com/nycacc and for more info regarding donations contact: 212-788-4000. Any organization that rescues animals that would otherwise be euthanized simply because they do not have a home are, in my opinion, a worthy choice to donate to.

I really feel it should be an international charity that does disaster relief.
Of course I am biased, but that doesnt change the fact that we have players from many countries.
I prefer people over animals ,but would also support an animal one. |
