Some basic hints.

Three words to focus on: SUITED ACES and POSITION. The later you are in position, the wider the range of hands you can play. Suited aces, along with 2 or 3 cards to a wheel are usually fine from any position. Don't get overly infatuated with A2's. Without a backup, like 3, 4 or 5 and a missed high, that A2 goes in the muck real fast if an A or 2 comes off. Try to play the high connectors in later positions. If you see alot of preflop activity in the early and mid positions, they can even be profitable calling raises with because the deck can be high loaded at this point.
Try to isolate with your weaker playable hands in later positions, you don't want many players facing these hands. The monsters, like the suited AA23's, A234's, A235's and so on, you want as many people in the pot as possible on these hands. Meaning, if you are UTG, don't raise. If you are on the button, you can raise, but the overall goal is a big pot. Big hand=Big Pot. One little tip. If you have the nut low with a draw to the nut high(like the nutflush), don't be afraid to raise with one or two opponents. You will find yourself quartered here and there, but when you pick up the 3/4 pot's, it will generally outweigh your few minor losses.
