Last week, I was at the casino in this multi-table tourney. I was second in chips (at my table) going against the chip leader (of the table). I was at the big blind. Everyone folds, except one guy who raises it to 26,000 (blinds were 4000/8000). I look down to see pocket kings and I call the bet.
The Flop:
K K A
I nearly wet myself, but I kept a straight face.
I checked.
He went all in 135,000 chips to my 123,000. The best that I could put him on was pocket aces and he flopped a full house.
I called and I was right - pocket aces.
THE TURN WAS ANOTHER ACE!
QUAD ACES TO MY QUAD KINGS!
I almost broke down and cried! Eventually this same guy won the tourney. |

Yikes.
After the flop you were a 95.6% favourite to win that hand.
Losing to quads sucks! There should be a support group.
I had a similar beat:
Me: (97o)
Him:(T4s)
Flop: T68
Me: Check
Him: All-in
Me: Call
Turn: T68 (T)
River: T68T (T)
I was actually a bigger favourite to win the hand after the flop, but yours beats mine, just because you lost with quads, to higher quads. Ouch! |
