OK firstly I know PF this is a bad hand but it was freeroll and I was either Donking up a big stack early or going home. 2nd I think I should've raised the flop. 3rd - is their anypoint after the turn where I should have stopped raising? PS - the whole hand I put my opp on the case A (or possible) flush. Or this just one of those hands that happens in O8? Looking back on the hand I think we could've capped every street with the same result.

| Umm.. the flop did get capped so I dunno what to say about that. You had the nuts until the river, if there is a jackass willing to keep raising you, keep raising him back. You got rivered. Sucks, but it happens. MAYBE you could have saved the last bet, but putting him on a J there is impossible, so really you played it right and got unlucky. |

You could have said something like: dumbass, donk etc.
I posted the HH several minutes after the hand and didn't read it properly when I went back over it (thought from memory that I had called the flop bet without capping - but my memory is obviously worse than the HH).
So in light of your correction (capped every street) there was no need to post this HH. PS - hand before this one I got my stack halved by boat/flush, then boat/boat - all the way down to 154 chips. 20 mins later - 3.3k in chips. On a nice comeback. |

On the flop you played the hand excellently in my opinion. You had the absolute nuts and the worst that could happen was that you'd split the high with the same hand, so no damage done. You wanna know where you are at so you cap it. The turn brought a low draw along with the fact you could share the high, that could have slowed you down a bit since your low wasnt really great but hey, betting will again give you an idea where you are at and slowing down is not easy with the nuts, I know Wouldn't have capped it though... River should have def slowed you down, an overcard to your 9, in omaha the prob is always much higher your opponent hits... A call would have done it (since he showed that much strength earlier on you had to assume he had at least the same full, if not better with the jack falling)
After showdown it was clearly a bad play from your opponent who got lucky and you got unlucky... Too bad you can't know this in advance |
