Way to stay on topic BNS, hehe. Wink

Check the following link out. Gypsydc asked people to submit signature entries, and in return she promised $11 to the one she chose.

First off, I didn't like the tournament because I took a bad beat early on...by the eventual winner no less. The real winner here is the St. Judes Charity. Who was the secret bounty?

I just wanted people to know that Mike Matusow isnt a huge jackass and make up that he would be sleeping in order to get out of playing the tourney as was mentioned before. A couple nights ago i was talking to him and he was telling us his schedule because he was up so late. he told us he goes to bed at 10:00 am or something around there. Making 5:00 a little early to get up. Just thought id share that.

I had a blast! What a good tourney. Overall, I think that has been some of the best poker playing I've seen online.

I think I played some of my best poker as well last night. Not sure if it was all the meds I was on ... or the fact that I was really looking forward to playing and didn't want to bust out first.

Really only two hands stand out in my mind as being hands I should've played differently:

first hand, I won ... but don't really like ...

Full Tilt Poker Game #1546948086: St. Jude Children's Hospital (9707161), Table 7 - 120/240 Ante 25 - No Limit Hold'em - 20:40:48 ET - 2007/01/06
Seat 3: bobbybusheax (445), is sitting out
Seat 4: Kardsh4rk (6,665)
Seat 5: Bigbluebiter (12,889)
Seat 6: DDSBAC (15,013)
Seat 8: Matthew Lennard (6,675)
Seat 9: Penguin06 (4,105)
bobbybusheax antes 25
Kardsh4rk antes 25
Bigbluebiter antes 25
DDSBAC antes 25
Matthew Lennard antes 25
Penguin06 antes 25
Matthew Lennard posts the small blind of 120
Penguin06 posts the big blind of 240
The button is in seat #6
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Kardsh4rk [Js Jd]
bobbybusheax folds
DDSBAC: nice getting me 2 stop betting
DDSBAC: well played
Kardsh4rk has 15 seconds left to act
Kardsh4rk raises to 850
2 high flush (Observer): now im gonna have a nice sandwich and some chips
Bigbluebiter folds
DDSBAC folds
poddis (Observer): lol chips?
Matthew Lennard raises to 6,650, and is all in
Penguin06 folds
2 high flush (Observer): tortilla chips
poddis (Observer): poker chips with a sandwitch
poddis (Observer): sounds good
Kardsh4rk calls 5,790, and is all in This was a bad decision and I don't think it's a call I would normally make. I'm not exactly sure why I even called. I guess I kinda thought he was trying to steal the pot – because my thinking was 'if he had AA or KK, why not just re-raise me a decent amount? Why come way over the top with all in reraise on a 3.5x BB bet - unless he wants to put me off my hand ... and if he does, why? Is his hand not that strong?' I then thought to myself that he had AK .. honestly, I saw the cards in my mind and a little voice inside me said fold. I knew the only thing that would keep me in the game if I called would be luck ... but, another little voice said, "don't let anyone push you around if you don't think they have it ... stand your ground." (damned voices in my head!)
Matthew Lennard shows [Ad Ks]
Kardsh4rk shows [Js Jd]
Uncalled bet of 10 returned to Matthew Lennard
*** FLOP *** [Qc 2c 8d]
*** TURN *** [Qc 2c 8d] [Jh]
*** RIVER *** [Qc 2c 8d Jh] [Kd]
2 high flush (Observer): have fun
Matthew Lennard shows a pair of Kings
Kardsh4rk shows three of a kind, Jacks
Kardsh4rk wins the pot (13,670) with three of a kind, Jacks
Matthew Lennard: bull##&&
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 13,670 | Rake 0
Board: [Qc 2c 8d Jh Kd]
Seat 3: bobbybusheax folded before the Flop
Seat 4: Kardsh4rk showed [Js Jd] and won (13,670) with three of a kind, Jacks
Seat 5: Bigbluebiter folded before the Flop
Seat 6: DDSBAC (button) folded before the Flop
Seat 8: Matthew Lennard (small blind) showed [Ad Ks] and lost with a pair of Kings
Seat 9: Penguin06 (big blind) folded before the Flop

Not happy at all with that play. Sure, I won ... but, I know I should've folded.

The other hand was the hand to bounced me:

Full Tilt Poker Game #1547342315: St. Jude Children's Hospital (9707161), Table 2 - 500/1000 Ante 125 - No Limit Hold'em - 21:43:10 ET - 2007/01/06
Banshee7: gg
Seat 1: DDSBAC (45,276)
Seat 2: rockosplace (11,585)
Seat 4: Bigbluebiter (20,224)
Seat 6: PianoPer (10,637)
Seat 7: Kardsh4rk (8,650)
Seat 8: LBVReaper (10,250)
Seat 9: Banshee7 (13,378)
DDSBAC antes 125
rockosplace antes 125
Bigbluebiter antes 125
PianoPer antes 125
Kardsh4rk antes 125
LBVReaper antes 125
Banshee7 antes 125
PianoPer posts the small blind of 500
Kardsh4rk posts the big blind of 1,000
The button is in seat #5
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to Kardsh4rk [Kd Ts]
LBVReaper calls 1,000
Banshee7 folds
DDSBAC folds
rockosplace folds
Bigbluebiter calls 1,000
PianoPer folds
Kardsh4rk checks (after the blind and the ante - I'm down to about $7500. I'm thinking now that I should've pushed it here, to try and get a folds around the board and take the pot. K10 aint the greatest hand, but it does have a bit of strength over other marginal hands)
*** FLOP *** [5d Qd Ks]
Kardsh4rk bets 3,000 (Totally wrong play here too. I should've either checked (and with a really short stack ... checking would be the same as folding ... or push all in. Totally wrong play by me here.)
LBVReaper raises to 9,125, and is all in (great. I've got 1/2 my chips in now ... and I'm pretty much screwed if I lose. My hope was that if he had a king also ... it would be K-6 or something. Maybe even Q's). Now, I pretty much have to call.
Bigbluebiter folds
Kardsh4rk calls 4,525, and is all in
LBVReaper shows [4d Ad]
Kardsh4rk shows [Kd Ts]
Uncalled bet of 1,600 returned to LBVReaper
DDSBAC: u can give that 2 the hospital ok?
*** TURN *** [5d Qd Ks] [7c] still ahead ... fingers crossed.
*** RIVER *** [5d Qd Ks 7c] [7d] death by diamonds.
LBVReaper shows a flush, Ace high
Kardsh4rk shows two pair, Kings and Sevens
LBVReaper wins the pot (19,425) with a flush, Ace high
Kardsh4rk stands up
*** SUMMARY ***

I'm not to sure if a pre-flop all in would've gotten him off A4suited. But, in hindsight ... it was something I really should've tried.

Overall, I finished 7th and won $16 - which I transferred back to Gypsy (for the kids). It was nice that LBVReaper took the $5 bounty paid by me and also transferred that to Gypsy for the kids.

All in all, a lot of super people played last night! (Except the guy I bumped w/my Jacks. He went off - fierce. It was really shameful. Oh well. Smile

Riley, I didn't want to give the impression he was lying ... and if I did, I'm sorry. I didn't think Mike was lying. I asked him early in the morning (like, 8:30 a.m. my time) and he said he couldn't do it because he'd be sleeping. He did say, 'another time though'. He was really good about it and I thanked him.

When I got back on about 18:00 server time (5 p.m. my time) .. I saw that he was playing again (he was gone for awhile, then came back). Since the tourney was in about 1 hour, I figured, 'hey if he's still up ... no harm in asking again'. So, I pestered the sh.it out of him Laughing but, he really was gone from the tables by about 18:45 server time.

In trying to get Mikey, Gus and Stuart Paterson to join in, I got a bunch of railbirds who were watching their games to sign up ... so, I feel it was a good victory overall and worth the effort. (although, I think I might have also got the guy who eventually busted me out ... so I'm not too thrilled about that! lol)

The few times I've talked w/Mike, he's been a really good guy. He gets a lot of crap talked at him for railers - crap that is uncalled for - but he takes it in stride. I think he's a good guy and if he were able to play - I think he would've.

Kard,

Don't worry, you didn't recruit me from the rail! Laughing I actually read about the tourney awhile ago and was fortunate enough to have my schedule fall around it. It's a super, great cause and hope to participate in more like these. Overall, I felt the play was great and the atmosphere was nice as well (except for the guy you knocked out....why be a jerk about it?). The hand that knocked you out was a poorly played one on my part. I probably shouldn't have limped in at that point but when you didn't raise; I figured I was a slight favorite going in. After the flop and your bet, I put you on a much weaker King than you actually had (whoops!) and figured I had 12 outs to the winner. So, I thought an over the top raise would take you off a weak king and even if you called due to being pot commited; I figured I still had a fairly good chance of drawing out. Besides, DDSBAC was felting people left and right and I just wanted to make a move. Anyways, maybe I played it absolutely horrible (any input would be great!), but had a great time playing with you and everyone else! Hope to do it again soon.

Laughing

It's all good Reaper Smile

I can't really critique your hand and how you played ... both you and I were sitting on small stacks and you're right DD was picking people off left and right. I think both of us we in a position where we had to make a move soon ... it just didn't work out for me - and did for you Smile
