I've seen people get in arguements in the chat box alot lately and it all starts over a bad beat or something and then someone will chime in with the stats of another player that they found on some website.

sharkscope.com for example and the many others.

I think tournaments are boring and pretty much a waste of time. I do try to satellite into the bigger ones from time to time and occassionaly when i'm bored i'll sign up for a tournament when I am playing my cash tables just see how far I can go.

But I am pretty much exclusively a cash game player. I do however let my friends and family play sit and go tournaments on my screen name sometimes.

So any stats I have on these websites aren't even a reflection of me, its pretty much a combination of my dad's play, my brother's, my gf's and a few buddies of mine.

I got in an arguement one night with a guy in the chat box and he brought up my stats that he found on some website, which i'm sure aren't very impressive.

I didn't bother to fight further with the guy and tell him that it wasn't really even my stats being that I let so many people play on my screen name, because he dosen't have to believe me and its just not worth the energy to fight about it.

I got curious and looked up my stats on these websites and what I found was they are pretty hit or miss.

I've done well in a few large tournaments, because like I said I don't really like tournaments but I will try to satellite into the larger ones from tiem to time.

But I didn't see any of my more impressive finishes listed. There were a few but definately not all of them. A few tournaments stick out in my mind because I was pretty proud of how I did but they were not listed in my stats.

My conclusion is these so called poker background sites are more or less a random selection.

They don't record or catch all of your finishes which makes them flawed and useless in my opinion.

So for any of you guys that are looking to use these as a tool I wouldn't bother.

The statistics seem to be a random sampling and im sure im not the only player that is strickly a cash game player that allows his friends and family to play sit and go tourneys on his name.

Why are you now allowed to let other people play on your account?

Its my money and they are all of age, whats the problem?

I'm sorry I misunderstood what you were saying. I thought you were saying you doubted I let people play on my account.

Now I see that you were saying its not allowed.

Why wouldn't that be allowed?

It is my money and they are all of age, where is the problem?

The only thing I can think of is they want as many people to have accounts as possible and sharing money hinders that.

Being that there is a transfer funds option on full tilt I don't see how its that much different.

I'm just making it easier and letting people play on my name instead having them create and account and then transferring them $5.

I'm always there anyway, when someone is playing on my name i'm right over their shoulder watching them play.

If I am breaking any sort of a rule its a silly rule.

Just to get back on topic.

These sites probably aren't worth the money. I'm not going to go as far as to say they are a scam but just know you are getting limited information.

Just based on my records i'd say you're getting less than 50% of a players actual finishes.

There are alot of people out there trying to make a buck my taking advantage of this poker explosion so you just have to be careful.

The funniest one i've see is the site that dedicated to on-line poker being rigged and it list quotes and examples from players that "prove" on-line poker is rigged.

The funny thing is they ask for a donation from you so they can fight the corruption, hahaha.

Just be careful where you spend your money.

well seeing that i hijacked your thread i decided to actually read it.. dont worry about all these sites, if they have not got all your information then use it to your advantage.. if players are going to make assumptions about you, then let them and take their money if they think ur such a weak player.. just dont go saying that u let so many people play on your account cos im stil pretty sure thats against the rules
