|
|
| Hello everyone, I am new to the forum. I have a question on figuring odds in 7 card Stud: How do you figure the odds of hitting a hand you are drawing to? For example say I am dealt Ad Kd 2d and there are no diamonds exposed in any of the other 7 players hands how do I figure what my odd are of drawing a nut flush by 7th at this point. I know I have a maxiumum of 10 outs to the hand and there are 24 cards left in the deck, but I am confused on how to apply these numbers into an equation. |

Im sorry I cant do odds with stud. I would still use this equation
y = 100/number of cards
y times number of cards to come
thats what i would do for 1 card.
Sorry i dont know but this might be usefull |

| In one of my stud books by Roy West called "7 Card Stud........." at the end of the book he lists a page of various drawing odds with different holdings. Way too many list here and they don't really take into the exact number of ranks or suits left or "live" left that you are drawing to. Kind of basic but good stuff to know. Like when you have 3 of a kind on 3rd street(rolled) your odds against making a boat by 7th st are 2:1 Check out that book if you are just starting out. Very tight strategy but a good starting point. |

Thanks so much for the reccomendation. While I am not "just starting out" in stud, I am just a couple of steps above novice in my own estimation. I will definatly be buying the book. Anymore good stud books out there? |

| The others Ihave are Ashley Adams book on 7cs and the Sklansky book called 7 Card Stud for Advanced Players(SCSFAP). I liked the Adams book but haven't yet read the Sklansy book. The stud section in Super System I by Chip Reese is supposed to be very good. Try typing in "seven card stud" on a search engine and you can find some good strategy tips online as well. |

| Very Good thread there. Thanks for reposting it Strasse. So much great info here on this forum. Just when you think you got something down you reread something and find out just what you didn't know. |
