i'm sure i'll get all kinds of people coming out and attacking this post, i used to be one of them. brescher is insane if he thinks that the software is not set up to create action. i play live games and i know you see more hands online, but the number of times the weaker hands draw out the "miracle" card(s) is ridiculous. the number of hands where multiple players make very playable hands creating showdowns, creating bigger pots, creating bigger rakes, is ridiculous. you don't see that even close to this frequently at live games. i'm sure there nothing illegal going on, but it's so wrong.....there's no reason it has to be like this.

The thing I see is that most people playing online are VERY greedy and want to make a fortune in every hand that they play so that they never have to work a day in their life again. Not gonna happen. So regardless of whether they think they are behind in the hand or not, they willingly bet everything they have in front of them with two pair or a set with a four flush ON BOARD and hope that they have the winner... then post on the forums about bad beats and suck outs. You may have AA preflop and flop a 4 flush with top card to that suit, but if someone makes a straight with those cards on board because you limped in or gave them pot odds to call because you didnt reraise, its still not a bad beat, it's just poor play. Dont get me wrong, I've taken horrid beats by people making the most horrendous calls you could imagine, especially preflop all ins, but you just take a deep breathe, suck it up and if you handled the situation right, you shouldnt have risked too much of your bankroll in that hand so that you can not continue on playing your BEST poker to live to win a pot another day.

I've lost 2k in one simple week of playin because of bad beat after bad play and not all were their fault. Sometimes I tightened up when I should have raised. Sometimes I was on tilt and bet too high to make any kind of value on the pot. That's poker though. The difference between winning and losing, is making the right bet at the wrong time and vice versa.

You have to see the underlying factors here. First and foremost, no matter what you think, K,J suited, no matter how great it looks, no matter how far you think you are ahead or how you havent played a hand in two hours, isn't that good, especially not for your all your chips in any game. Bad beats will happen, suck outs will happen, and you just have to take it in stride. Realize that most of the players you are seeing are a byproduct of watching television and even on TV, when someone flops trip aces with AA in the hole, they too can be sucked out on by someone calling all in with an outside straight draw. I went all in preflop today low stacked with Q, 10 of spades and got called by KK. flop came down open ended for me with a j and a 9 and sure as hell, I hit my K for the straight. Guy didnt **** about the site being rigged or about me being a suck out. He said to me... nice catch and left it at that. Those things will happen. Maybe he threw his lamp against the wall or maybe he just went oh well that happens, but he got his money in with the best hand with great odds in his favor and thats just how the cards turned out.

Remember this. 2,7 in the hole isn't 0% against AA in the hole. If AA in the hole was 100% to win everytime, who wouldnt be willing to put all their chips in the middle at any point in the hand? Poker isn't a game of guarentees, so just play your game the way you play it and if you do that, you wont be HOPING to win most of the time, you'll be EXPECTING to win most of the time.
