heres this mathematical riddle type thing i heard today...lets see if any of you can get it...
These 3 men are on a road trip and at around 10 P.M they decide to stop for the night at a cheap hotel. They walk in and find out the room is only 30 dollars. They each pay 10 and head up to their room. The man at the desk realizes he overcharged the three men and that the room is actually only 25 dollars. He gives the bellman 5 bucks to return to the three men. The bellman couldnt figure out how to distribute the 5 dollars evenly so he kept 2 and gave each of the men 1 dollar. But that only adds up to 29 dollars...with each of the men paying 10-1 (9) and the bellman keeping 2.....any answers guys? |

This is an old riddle, and really the riddle isnt in the math but the wording of how you say it.
They pay 10 bucks each, and get 5 bucks back, 2 to the bellman, 1 to each person.
You say that adds up to 29, when in fact that adds up to 25.
Each person gives 10 dollars (-10)
(-10)*3 = -30
Each person gets 1 dollar back (1)
-30 + (1*3) = -27
Room costs 25 dollars, they paid 27. The hotel gets 25, the bellman gets 2
25 + 2 = 27
In the end the total +/- for each person is as follows
Guy 1 -9
Guy 2 -9
Guy 3 -9
Bellman +2
Hotel +25
----------
= 0 |

| Thats not true Aye....each man gets 1 dollar back of the 10 the first paid. even an idiot can see thats 9 dollars a person. The riddle is in the wording, and 29 never comes in unless someone is trying to confuse you or is confused themself |
