you cap on the river here right? i had two of the 4's so it should have been obvious to cap it but the check raise on 4th kinda confused me.
also is the 3rd street call too loose? there were a few of my outs missing but once i hit the 6 on fourth, i am in much better shape. also this table had been "foldy" so i figured i may be able to pull off some bluffing.

| I'm still fairly new to razz, but if I have two cards under 6 I am completing and definitely calling the completion. If I have 3 under 8 I will do the same and I am really getting the hang of playing what they see and what I see rather than just what I have so having a 4 hidden doesn't really matter. From there on there is nothing wrong, you have second nutz and its doubtful they have the wheel. I think you played it very well, you weren't too crazy when before you hit the 3 while they were showing 235 and bet hard when your hand was made. Don't think it could have gone much better. But then again, I am still pretty new. |

Yes, but there are two 4s still out there, and only one 6. If you give your opponent credit for having a 6-low or better, it's twice as likely that he has a 4 and you're beat, compared to him having a 6.
Also, a good Razz opponent, better than your average 0.25/0.50 player, is not likely to 3-bet in that situation without the nuts. You've just reraised into a very scary board.
Without a solid read that my opponent is a donkey, I would not have raised 7th street at all here -- your reraise on 6th street represented a 6-low, and yet he still came out firing on 7th street. Like I said above, I think 2/3 of the time, he has a wheel, the other 1/3 of the time, a 6-5-3 which he hopes is ahead of your 6-5-4. |

i don't know if its me, but i don't particularly like him playing a pair against two limpers and a completion bet. at the .25/.50 limit, the two limpers in all likelyhood will call and you'll be looking at a 4 way pot, with one of your hole cards useless to help your hand. if you could have limped in there with that hand, that would have been fine IMO, but i don't like calling a completion bet with a dead card in your hand. its essentially the same as starting with K24, which by most standards is a terrible starting hand, facing a completion and 3 cards to help your low (A,6,6) already out on the board.
as for the hand itself, i'm with Jbren in that i don't think i would have raised that hand on 7th. sure you've got two 4's but on a board of 532A, i'm looking to get into the show-down without the nuts and hopefully drag the pot. |

Yeah I'm with those who said dump on third. I've never played a razz cash game, only tourneys, but my general rule is I need the first three cards to be 7 or lower. If you pretend the second 4 is a King (it's effectively useless) then do you still want to play the hand? It's not a terrible play, but I think super tight is the way to play razz against a lot of players who just don't know how to play the game.
I would also have flat called on 7th street, his board looks very scary. He either has a 4 or a 6 in his hand, and given the way he has bet, I would expect a 4. Also, I would initially have put him as having an ace down, but as he bets out on 6th when an ace hit, I'm less inclined to put him one one. That further increases the likelyhood of having a 4 as a downcard IMO.
You have the 2nd nuts, but there is a real possibility that he has you beat, so get to the end as cheaply as possible!
