I'm kind of new to limit, but I'm getting better. Aside from limping, or even playing this hand to begin with, is there anything I could've done better?

Absolutely nothing you could do yourself there. I myself am also relatively new to limit, and I would've played that hand the exact same way. Just be happy that your opponent just called that last bet on the river with his boat. |

truly terrible play by crowfoot. You raised post flop, you raised and got a caller on the turn, Crowfoot then reraises the turn and you cap the betting, but when Crowfoot makes his full house on the river he only calls your raise.
He raised when he held the worse hand and merely called when he held the better. You should find this player everytime you play and sit to his left. He will bleed chips and miss bets and you should have a nice payday. Truly awful and you just got hit with the donley stick.
No reason to fault your play at all. |

I don't think you should really have been in the hand QTo is not a pocket that you would want to play.
Alright you hit the straight on the flop and then you started to play it correctly. There were 2 to the flush on the board so you wanted anyone with a single heart out of the hand.
The action you got on the turn should have told you that Crowfoot more than likely had a set, it wasn't the case and he overplayed two pair. You would still have been ahead and so you were right to raise.
The board pairing on the river should have sounded the warning bells and you should have checked called. I'm not advocating that you should have folded, but at that stage I would have expected to lose.
Your raise on the river was bad and Crowfoot showed how bad a player he really was and didn't reraise you, letting you off the hook. |

+1 I still am confused about what was going through his head. He makes his boat and then just calls. What is he putting you on KJ? That's a risk you gotta take. |

| I think you played it fine, although I could see a fold pre-flop and a call on the river if your opponents were tight enough. If they weren't, I don't really think there is a more profitable way to play the hand. |

+1
Folding preflop is fine. I limp with a lot of hands from the last three seats if there are 3 bets or more in ahead of me and if I count correctly you had 3sb (two of them blinds) already in the pot. I think it really comes down to how well you play post-flop and how tight/loose the table is. With a bunch of loose players hitting the flop (as you did) will usually lead to a big payday.
Maybe a simple call on the river with the paired kings. A lot of folks are going all the way with any king and would consider KJ or K9 a huge hand. But I think he was just as likely to have K4 or KQ so a raise isn't terrible either.
You should thank him for not having the good sense to reraise you on the river. |
