I'll keep posting a few live play things such as my mistakes, correct moves and other stuff that may be of any help to others and for any tips or comments etc.(as long as it does not get boring. Please let me know)

Finally finished reading SSHE tonight, What a great read. Lots of items that I have not tried yet but am slowly working them into my play. A def. reread at least a few more times.

Last night-Played about 3 hours of $2-4 LHE at a local casino. First table was typical loose with lots of callers and not too much PF raising. (yummy!) Lost about $30 in a few hands when people rivered sets vs. my big 2 pairs. No biggie, I was getting my $ in there with the best hands both times. Didn't upset me cause I know this is what happens at this limit. Few hands later I picked up the AJ spades in the SB, 6 limpers, I raised, all called me, flop came 66x with 2 more spades, I was 1st to act, I bet, 2 callers, Turn gave me the nut flush, I bet again, 1 caller, one raise from the button, I RR'd, it went call, the raiser then just called, River I bet out, went call, button raised me again, I fired back he called and showed his J high flush vs. my nut flush. Pretty good pot there. Only thing is I wonder if I should have just called his Turn raise or played it the way that I did. Please let me know. With the board pairing I wanted to bet it to see.

Mistakes-I made several river mistakes when I checked instead of betting for value on the river with the best hands. I figured that I lost about at least $12 for the night doing this a few times. (dumb eh?)The hand above I had just top pair with a medium kicker and should have gotten one more bet in. One other time I made 4's full on the river and I thought my lone opponent would put in a river bet cause he had been calling me all the way and either showing 2 pair or a low str8. He was loose and I thought that he was for sure going to bet me there. I made the mistake of checking hoping for a CR there but he merely checked. That was right from the book in both cases. I won the pots but lost 2 Big Bets in the process. With the rake and tips this can add up at the low limits. Hopes this helps anyone. I was on a roll though but the table broke for some weird reason.

One other hand which I lost a fair amount on that I was completely off of what this guy had- I got AQo on the button, 5 limpers, I raised, they all called including the blinds, flop came Q72 rainbow, Good flop for me(or so I thought), 3 checkers, one bet from a begginer, I raised, he called, heads up with him now,(Trying to put him on something here, I thought maybe a weak Q, or A7 etc.) Turn came a non threatening card, he bet, I called(I should have raised or folded here), River came a K. At this point I was confused. I didn't think that the K could have helped him and I was limiting his hands to the ones above. That said, at this level the range of hands he could have had were many. I checked to him, he bet, I called and he showed KK for a set of K's. Blew me away. No PF raise from him at all and no reraises. Surprised me there. I am filing this one away on paper and in my dome. Then again, the guy on my right played every single hand and when he made a big hand he would never raise at all with it. He rebought a few times. Some weird play.

Next table I was very card dead for the next hour and hardly played a hand which sucks but I have the patience for waiting for some playable hands. Sometimes it comes other times it doesn't. I did find myself very alert and and focusing for the first table session but this last one where I was card dead I was getting tired and losing my focus. Time to go.

Tip-Don't play when your'e tired. Maybe cliche' & common sense but it is so true.

Tip-Try not to miss out on any bets. They add up. Especially on the river. I did a few times like I said and I saw a lot of people just checking on the river with the best hands as well, fearing some others hands. This is something I need to work on obviously.

Tip-Don't play crap hands. I saw one guy who was one of those masters at chip shuffling & chip tricks but he was playing nearly every hand. He also rebought twice.

Tip-Dealers are human and make a few mistakes from time to time, but don't be rude and jump all over them when it happens. Try and be polite. It is much better to have them on your side for anything that might arise at the table. Think of all the idiots that they have to deal to.

Good post......I have read sshe cover to cover 4 times and I will reread it again I am sure. Great book for us low stakes slummers...

I would have probably been careful with a pair on the board as well, holding a nut flush. Turn play looks alright, It looked like your flush is good at that point, He did not cap the turn betting when he had a chance to. I would bet and raise the river until he calls as well.

You seem to know when you are making your mistakes. Maybe not at the time you are making them, but you analyize after the hand, recognize a mistake has been made, and you are learning from them.

Keep it up.

Where is it you are from? You don't have to get specific...

So Cal. Where I am at there are several casinos to pick from anywhere from about 35 minutes away to about 90 minutes so it makes it nice to try out different places and see how the play differs from each because it usually does differ a bit from place to place. Each place has a different vibe as well. For the most part, the 2-4 games have been more on the loose side than teh tight side with a few exceptions from time to time. When they are tight there are alway at least a fe really bad players. Funny thing is, I have been playing on line now for over a year and just recently made the jump to live play. I was always really intimidated to play live not having done it before. I still get a bit nervous when I play but a like just a bit of nerves. It keeps me sharp, focused and in the game.

Big Wheel, you play live much? I'd like to hear others session hands etc. from live limit play.
