Whenever I'm in a blind vs blind or button vs blinds situation at a ring game, I usually play in an ultra-aggressive style as if it were a heads up match. If I catch anything or have an ace in my hand, I'll see a showdown unless it's really obvious they have something.

I've read various books and articles which advocate everything from "your blind is dead money" to "You must defend your blind" so I don't really have any solid theory to base my play on.

How does everyone else play in similar situations? My instinct says I'm doing it right, but it's not making me any serious $. Opinions please....

At the micro limits, I think there is very little blind stealing going on. People just play their hands and you had better have a playable hand that can beat a LP raiser...Micro limits being .25/.50 and .50/1 limit

I will check to see how many times he has attempted blind steals and will base my play back at him on that. Generally I will not get to the river unless I think I have a hand that can beat his likely holdings. I think most players who get to the river will have at least a pair. There are exceptions to this as there are people who will push with anything all the way to the river...That is what note taking is for!

A few players at .50/1 and many at 1/2 will blind steal quite regular and I will play back at them with a weaker hand. When I push back, I get a bit aggressive and I can usually knock them off their hands.

You are not going to make money in the blinds. Over the long run, everyone loses in the blinds. I am a loser in the BB to the tune of roughly -.15 BB/100 and -.06 BB/100 in the SB.

Compared to other players who have posted number on 2+2, my blind losses are about average compared to most posters in those forums...
