I got this off another thread.
The deck is always shuffling??? I had no idea, so if I call immediately or in 2 seconds the result is different??
Is this true??? |
Yes it is true that different cards will show to the tune of 100 to 500 per second. Should it change your manner of play? Not at all as the only thing affected is the table chat.
"I threw away a straight" or whatever is bogus because if that person would have stayed in the round the cards that fell would have been different.
It is a great protection device, now to ban obvious colluders. |
how do you know that it continuously shuffles though? i think it is just a rumour started somewhere and repeated so many times it "became" true.
now i'm not a CS major but i have taken a few programming classes and done quite a bit of programming and i still maintain that it's easier both on the programmer and on the CPU to shuffle all the cards at once at the beginning of a hand rather than shuffle it continuously in the middle of a hand.
sure it can use information such as length of time taken to call or whatnot, in order to generate the random number seeds, but why can't it glean all of this information from the previous hand? i think this would be a more sensible way to do it, and it would still not compromise the security of the deck.
however i will agree with everyone in that there's no reason why a continuously shuffling deck would cause you to play any differently. in the long run, as long as you play within your bankroll, your profit will only be determined by the way you play your hands and not the outcome of any individual pot. |
