Take a look through the sticky at the top of this page...Tons of good information up there.
Please take the time to read through the posts as there really is a bunch of good information up there, and then ask away... |

Well I don't know what level NL you played, but I wouldnt say 1/2 FLHE is a good starting ground to Limit, there will probably be several seasoned players at your table, and you'll be a fish. Move down to .50/1 or even .25/.50 while you learn the ropes.
Limit is more a game of draws, top pair is rarely enough to win a pot IMO. Don't play anything other than the top 5 hands+JTs in EP, and don't try and bluff, people always have the odds to call. |

well the reason i actually am doing 1/2 is i tried .25/.5 and .5/1, and i couldnt win at them.
i moved up to 1/2 and have had 3 sessions and won all of them, im not sure what the difference is
i read the stickies, thanks for pointing me to them. |

If you have the BR, i don't think it's such a bad idea to play 1/2. It is a more solid game, less likely to be a family affair every pot. You may have some bigger swings, but if you are playing more abc hold'em while learning, you shouldn't get too worked. The lower limit games, IMO, are extremely difficult to win at playing abc style. You really need to adjust your game to the fish and know how to get max value out of post flop monsters.
Also, I like 6 max tables myself. If you do step down, try these. I think there is alot more manuvering to be done there. |

| I love 6 max games. I just feel that there is more skill to playing short-handed and you can play a lot of different hands not just top 10 and KQ suited like in a full game. |
