I'm not sure if the HH randomizes the down cards the same way the showdown does. If so, he could have started with diamonds down. The call on 4th street would have still been questionable but it's still only a 1/2 bet. That's more than likely not the case though or he would have raised you on 6th street with a made hand. Hell, I'd have raised on 5th street in that situation so I could try and buy a free card on 6th if I missed or bet out if I hit. So yeah, it's almost certainly a bad suckout.
This guy should be your new best friend though! I'm at a table on Bodog right now and three guys like that have come in and gone broke in the last hour. My only regret is that I didn't get more of the loot.
Edit: Do a search for this guy so he'll be on your search list and you can find him the next time you want to play Stud. |

| Nothing wrong with this. The guy almost certainly started with diamonds, and even though he didn't hit another on 4th, there was so much in the middle and so many others still in the hand that calling was the right play. The only problem I see with this hand is that you are still betting on 6th and 7th. 6th I might be able to see a bet, to see where you are at, but on 7th, you have to figure he had a strong draw, so a check call is a much better play on 7th, in case he hit his draw, as he's probably not going to call you if he didn't. |
