| This is a play chip SNG, so the play probably isn't as strong as it would be in a real money SNG. For this reason, I probably would have played the hand like you played it, capping on the flop. However, because uberdonk raised preflop and three-bet after the flop, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of his having the only hand that beats you: the last two aces. If you're not beat already, you really only have a real shot at half the pot, and you're probably up against a variety of wraps and other draws. Normally I would just call here, and hope to hit a boat or quads perhaps on the turn. |

I would have folded on the river. A set isn't that strong a hand in Omaha, hi or hi/lo. You could have been up against 2 people fighting for the low, but in a 3 way pot, it's usually 2 people fighting for the high, and 1 person ramming and jamming with the low.
I might be wrong on this, especially now that most people will play any hand with A2 in it. This is also a mistake. Check out Annie Duke's O8B articles on www.ultimatebet.com.
Also, You raised on the river, without the nuts. |

With all do respect I don't like the way you played your hand!!
The 1st thing I noticed about this hand is that uberdonk was sitting out while the cards were being dealt then quickly returned just in time to raise from early position. When you see this happen it usually is a VERY strong hand!! Eventhough uberdonk's hand is actually a realitively weak Ah Qh 5c 9s holding (you don't know this yet)
Based on the above information this makes your call with As 4h Js Jc before the flop dangerous. You are definately supposed to be dominated for low in this spot and possibly dominated for high as well!! But since you were already half way in with the big blind and you have some intriguing possibilities with multi-way action the before the flop call is automatic.
With a flop of A J 6 and multi-way action 2nd set is extremely vulnerable. I like the bet but once it is raised and three bet (by the pre flop raiser making AA more likely) and then called cold by another player it is time to proceed with extreme caution. You choose to CAP it
A value cap I guess. Way to many drawing possibilities against you.
When the K turns for a board of Ac 6d Jh Kh I would have checked to see what was going to happen. If I bet it would be to define my hand which should have already been defined! Once it gets raised and re-raised I would have thrown away right here!!! Maybe this is why I always lose playing Omaha hi/low because I would have mucked what was at the time the best hand with a chance to scoop a monster pot. But, if you are playing against real players with this exact action you are supposed to be in deep trouble!
With the 5h river making the board Ac 6d Jh Kh 5h the world's fair has been completed do you really think that you are going to move anyone off of this monster pot?? Not a chance in snowball's hell!! Poker players have the worst disorder's of all it is called the FOLDING DISORDER they can't fold!! Especially when the pot is big. Assuming I was even still in this pot I certainly would have folded on the river.
After seeing all the hands I notice that no one had what I thought they were supposed to have. So in retrospect you played your hand perfectly until the river. Uberdonk and oc51599 sure are a couple of typical internet over-aggressive donkeys. Now I know why I always pay people off on the internet!!
By the way don't take my analysis to seriously, I never win playing Omaha hi/lo!! 8) |
