I was playing a live tourney last night when the following hand came up.
We started with 4000 in chips each. The blinds were currently 100/200.
I was in middle position, with about 6000 in chips, and was dealt T8 of hearts. I call, something I usually don't do in middle position with suited semi-connectors, but nobody was raising at the table.
4 people see the flop, which comes AA5, 2 hearts. Check, check, check, check. Turn is a 6 of hearts. I bet the pot ($900) to protect my hand, after all, I only have a T high flush. The guy to my left reraises all-in for about $3000, and the guy to his left re-reraises all-in for about $5000.
What do you do if you were me? (Scroll down)
I folded. It's early in the tourney, and there are many hands that beat me.
The guy to my left flips up 62o, a complete bluff!, the guy to his left flips up A2, and wins the hand with trip aces. |

| Sometimes you gotta be able to fold the best hand. Its a hard thing to do but if you dont it will be a painful lesson. You all limped in so there was no real indication of what ppl were holding and yes you caught the flush (not a great one) but the board was paired making a possible boat. Now after betting you are faced with not 1 but 2 all in reraises! Without knowing the players involved in the hand and what they are cabable of just go with the rule of thought. BEWARE any unraised pots. |

I would have called 1 all-in, but not 2.
The blinds were such, that you needed to gamble to stay ahead.
I thought long and hard. I thought about Jesus' call at the 2004 WSOP. He only had a T-high flush, but he was only facing 1 opponent, and it was much later in the tourney, so he was needing to double up. |

you can make the right move and still think you're "wrong" when its done, otherwise it wouldn't be poker
better to chastise yourself for not calling your would-be wins than cursing yourself for the call you made that broke you
good fold |
