I was playing a NL Freeroll on PS yesterday, practicing some of the things that I have read about on this forum and executing them quite sucessfully. The blinds were 600/1200 when this hand came up, I was the big stack at the table with about $80k. I was on the button with 6c3c, fully intending on mucking my hand when every single person in front of me limped in making the pot 9000 (plus antes, $75/player I think). I figured 1200 to win 9000 was nearly good enough with any two cards so I called as well (knowing full well that I did not have the best hand). The SB folded then the BB raised the minimum, and once again everyone just called the bet, so as last one to act I called as well. The pot is now $18,600. The flop comes out Ac 6h 4d. The BB bets the minimum and EVERYONE calls again to me, so with my terrible hand I call the 1200 making the pot $27000. The turn was the 2c. Now the BB bets $4800 and everyone folds to me. My thinking here is that I have a straight draw(3 5's), flush draw (9 clubs), and 2 sixes to make the best hand as I put the BB on Ax, so I call again. The river is Jc, and the BB bets $3200 making the pot $39,800. I raise and he calls and mucks to my flush. He then proceeded to tell me what **** ****** and blah blah blah I was.

Was I wrong here to think that the pot odds justified my calls all the way through or was I just a total fish who sucked out? If the genius would have bet more preflop or on the flop I never would have continued with the hand... Any constructive feedback would be great!

Thanks

hmm...if i read that correctly you called a reraise on the flop? Im not so sure that was great but other than that not bad...you saw a juicy pot and tried to take it down.

Btw, dont listen to the people in the chat...especially in freerolls

played beautifully

I actually prefer small suited connectors to the big hands, and especially in a case like this where the guy pretty much thinks any ace is good....

you expect to have 15 outs and are supposed to lay it down? The only justification for laying it down is if you think your flush draw isn't live (meaning his is higher) and then you probably only have 6 outs and aren't quite even money anymore... Or if you think he has a made hand like a set or better two pair in which case you ONLY have the flush draw that doesn't pair the board (less than 9 outs)... but c'mon, if you hit one of those 15 outs and he has you beat, so be it... you got your money in thinking it was good, so you move on... Maybe you could be worried about 35 or something like that, but then what do you care when you hit flush on the river.

I LIKE IT.

The BB only bet the minimum on the flop and the 6 other players in front of me just called. The BB is the only one who was betting until the river. That is when I re-raised with the flush.

And no, I didn't pay much attention to the windbag, but the more I thought about it, the more I started to wonder if I was right in my thinking on the pot odds.

Thanks for confirming what I already suspected Very Happy

You did well. This is why min raising is usually a bad idea. What did he expect you to do? Throw away ~7:1 pot odds? Or maybe you should have folded when your pot odds were 20+:1. Or maybe when they got even higher. Come on. He's just a moron who can't stand losing and can't play correctly. I bet he's telling all his friends right now that online poker is rigged because of this wicked bad beat he took with AA vs 63.

I crack aces on a daily basis B&M... and then come home to read about how "online poker is rigged" based on similar hands/bets... HILARIOUS
