What is the best hand in Omaha? Or the top 10.. is there a list somewhere? For example.. Pocket Aces is the best in hold 'em. I'm trying to learn the strategies and hands in Omaha. Any help is appreciated.

Best hand in omaha is AAKK double suited (AK of one suit and AK of another). Any hand with two aces is a good start, but don't get too attached to it. Wraps are also good, like TJQK double suited, since it has potential to hit lots of pairs and straights, as well as flushes.

AAJ10 double suited is 2nd best i believe because of str8 possibilites.also 9-10-J-Q is a premium hand but yeah AAKK is the the #1

AAKK double suited will come your way about once every 45,120 deals.
That compares to AA in Hold'em which happens once every 221 deals.
So getting AAKK double suited is about 204 times harder than getting AA in Hold'em. |

I've seen AAJT double suited, never AAKK double suited. Starting hands matter less in omaha than they do in hold 'em however. Any four cards are playable really as long as they don't contain three of the same card, but hands do go up in value if they have straight and flush possibilities. My favorite starting hands in omaha are hands like QJT9 double suited. I almost always catch a big piece of the flop with these type of hands.

It's debatable, 227Q rainbow is pretty weak as is 259K rainbow.

227Q is a terrible omaha hand... even if you hit flop a full boat with your 2's, there is a 25-30 percent chance that somebody else will make the higher full house by the end of the hand...

Low pairs in a full ring game are dangerous. You can lose a lot of money to a higher set when you flop one as well.

I don't know the odds, but I have seen it twice......and didn't win either pot. Once after I flopped the nut flush, and a guy kept bottom two pair and filled up. The other was when I flopped TWO sets and lost to a moron who decided to chase me with 3-4-5-6
Personally, though....I'd rather the A-A-J-10 ds simply because of the straight possibilites, the extra trips possibilities just aren't that exciting to me (of course, I won't complain if I get A-A-K-K ds)
Worst hand:
Anything with a deuce.......I won't play it unless its suited to the ace and the other two cards better make me real happy (such as A-K, K-Q, A-Q, K-K, etc.) |

What about J-10-9-8 DS? If you see the right cards like 87 q8 97 etc you've got a big hand. I'm not saying it's the best starting hand, but probably one of the strongest.
