I have read a 4-5 poker books and was rereading Erick Lindgren's WPT Making the Final Table last week.
I was playing in a 400 person tourney this week. I was killing my first table, picking up a lot of small pots. When we went on our first break, the lady that was on my left said, " I like the way you play. You play just like Erick Lindgren." I smirked and was really flattered. I replied, " Really, have you ready a book of his or something?" She said yes and I lied and said I didnt know he had a book out.
The best part was that even though she knew the style I was playing, she let me run all over her. Too bad after our table broke, I fell apart and went out 99th. |

I think she had more table smarts and you had more book smarts.
Nothing can beat actual experience.
You can read about how to do something, or you can actually do it,
I pick experience over books hands down.  |
