| The Port Security bill is supposedly a good bill that should have been signed. For once, Bush isn't the problem. |

| From what I hear, it was the whitehouse who suggested that congressional leaders put this in the port security bill as a way to shield themselves from criticism involving the abramoff gambling scandal--so they can say to their nutty base "we are against gambling as it is a sin" W. doesn't give a sh** about you or poker---but only sucking up to the religious right! If any of you cared about the future of poker or the world for that matter, you better vote for a democrat on Nov 7th. |

| This isn't about the so-called religious right. It's about Indian casinos, Las Vegas and Atlantic City and their campaign donations. |

"This isn't about the so-called religious right."
The hell it isn't. Who do you think they are pandering too. Senate majority leader Bill Frist--who has presidential ambitions and who played a key role in getting this inserted into the port security bill--has been courting the right wing base for the last year--speaking at all of the radical right wing events. As for Bush, he has done nothing but pander to the nuts on the far right since he took office, while thumbing his nose at the rest of us--hence the country has become more divided than since the civil war. Remember this is the guy who ran on being "a uniter not a divider." What a joke. Ironically, over the last several months people are becoming more united in their disdain for him! Easily, worst president ever! |

I'm not disagreeing with what you said cause honestly I just don't know but it seems odd to me that "Live" casinos would be so against on-line gambling.
To me it gets more people interested in poker and other such games that might not ever have even thought about it.
I thought people went to Las Vegas for the atmosphere, not really just for the gamblling. Atlantic City is on their own though, I don't think anyone goes there for the atmosphere hahaha
But seriously i'm of the mindset that if you play poker on-line it makes you wanna go to Vegas even more at some point. |

Careful you agenda is showing.
Just curious since Bush is "radical right wing" where would you be getting your info that the White House was pushing for the bill? It's ok you don't have to answer because its painfully clear where you get you information from.
BTW when you speak about Bush and say he's a radical conservative and the worst President ever you show your ignorance of what a radical is as well as your lack of knowledge about history.
Now was Frist pandering? Hell yes. But you also might want to follow the money. Ill let you do some investigating and if you can log off of your liberal blogs long enough to find the answer then many of your tin foil cap theories might disappear.
Try sticking to facts and not biased assumptions. |
