It's pretty good.

He recommends opening the pot when you play. If you can't raise pre-flop, fold. It's a good way to play, but doesn't always work at the lower limits. There's also some good info on buying free cards by raising with draws.

Lederer's a top LHE player, so he knows what he's talking about.

Do you mean open raise or raise preflop everytime you play?

As a way of chasing people out, I agree open raising (or just raising) doesn't work at the lower limits. But as a way of evaluating your hand strength/position I really like this approach.

If you are EP and see 78s are you opening for a raise? Not likely. So you shouldn't limp there either.

I'm not sure I'm making sense here. If not, say so and I'll try again.

sorry to Hijack, but is Phil Gordon's green book the one about playing at the micro limits?

Last week I had the privilege of seeing John Pinette's stand-up comedy show, I Say Nay Nay. He talked a lot about dieting, his stint on Broadway (playing a woman in Hairspray) and ended with a couple of his classic bits, Water Park, Wizard of Oz buffet and Chinese buffet. He brought the house down. He didn't just get applause, he got Chris Rock applause.

This strategy seems to have a high amount of variance, from the times I have used it at the low limit tables. Basically, in the video he explains if there is a limper or two..to just go ahead and still raise as if you were opening. It seems to be really effective if you have a passive table that will fold a lot if they don't hit.

Lederer provides a unique strategy (raise only pre-flop unless you are in the blinds) in this video, but I do wish he would explain his pre-flop strategy, with limpers involved, a bit more.

With limpers I believe he says to still raise, but to be more selective with hands you raise with. It's a good system, but not for micro-limits. For micros try reading Lee Jones' book, 'Winning Low Limit Holdem' or Matthre Hilger's book, 'Internet Texas Holdem'.

I love John Pinette... I haven't seen him live yet, but I will.

I highly recommend it junk. He killed! I saw Lewis Black a few weeks prior, and John Pinette made him look like an amateur. John Pinette rocks. Oh, and I have a deep respect for comedians who don't swear. The jokes just seems more pure. Pinette cursed once, maybe twice the whole 100 minutes he was on stage.
