Just provide me with a list of people who think like you, and I will gladly collect all these small insignificate amounts. I mean if they are just going to lose, they might as well lose to me, right? "-------pghbandit
$10 sit and go's or tournys are nothing more than the cost of a movie ticket for a few hours entertainment. Those cigaretts, that bag of potato chips, that Pepsi from the vending machine...all those little vices cost a hell of a lot more than per annum than my $10 drunk sit and go's. Add up all the little nonsense things you spend a dollar here or a dollar there on in the course of a year and I garuntee you that you probably spend more and get less enjoyment for your time than I do on some drunken sit and go's. |
While I agree that life and all it's various expenses are costly, If you enjoy throwing money away playing poker I will not try to discourage you. However there are quit a few people that collect those "small" amounts over time. I personally attempt to collect $30-to-$60 whenever I play. |

Wow. Some of you guys take your poker way more seriously than I ever even concidered possible in an online poker room. I would suggest that for you more serious players, get the heck off of the internet to play if it upsets you, because I would assume that at least 80% of the players that you encounter online are novices and are playing for fun, like me. If I break even over time that is just a bonus to the enjoyment that I get from playing the game. And playing poker with people like me who, until now, had no idea what a ROI is, or that ROI's are collected into a data base for every online player, is certianly going to affect YOUR ROI when we make calls on our game that are not predetermined for us by Poker Strategy 101. (Some of us still like the suprise of the Luck Of The Draw.) Silly, huh? So I would like to say I'm sorry, from all of us donks, donkeys, fish, idiots, ect. for we knew not the effect WE were having on YOUR ROI. Just please remember that everyone has to learn by the experience of playing and that when you more serious players criticize our calls, call us names, and generally turn an enjoyable game of poker into "table rage", as I like to refer to some of incidents I have witnessed (and possibly caused once or twice) we don't even know what you are talking about. So next time you are in a FREEROLL tournament just concider the fact that you WILL be encountering a high ratio of inexperienced players. And perhaps, instead of calling names, being the professional that you are, you could offer some friendly tips or advice.

Are you the one that got my chat revoked?
I think your guestimate is slightly off. I think there are a lot of people that do take internet poker very serious, especially as you move up in stakes. I would never belittle a freeroll player, simply because I don't play them. And they are free. It's like play money.
Playing poker for fun? what the hell kind of fun is that?
Just kidding.... |

Wow so that says that I've played 87 sit'n'gos for an average of 10 dollars and lost $480 bucks? That doesnt show the money I make playing in cash games sober. Or the fact that I personally probably played only about 35 of those games and the others where played by my friends at the pub. Being that I am currently residing in Thailand many of my Thai friends dont know how to play and I figure whats a better way to let them learn for cheap than a $10 90 player KO tourny? It also doesnt show you the play percentage of getting my money in when Im ahead and losing to some guy playing a 7-2 suited on the river because he thinks suited cards are actually good.
The point being $480 bucks over the past 6 months that I have lived here in Thailand is nothing. Internet poker is not something I take very seriously. Thats $480 bucks for 6 months of entertainment. Thats a bargain. When I return home I will be back at Foxwoods 2 or 3 times a week playing real poker. |

Yeah, you're right. In that case I was making it all up because of my crappy ROI. |

Poker is like anykind of speculation/investment/venture.
If it's negative expectation don't do it.
If you don't see the use of ROI% you need to get a savings account, lay off gambling and get into baking or something. It isn't for you.
But said that, do you wanna go heads up?
Joke. I hate heads up.

Although i agree that noob/fish talk isn't necessary.
I was called a "min raise donk" my last game.
Just reply with "BAD OR GOOD POKER PLAY SHOULD NEVER IMPEDE CIVILITY" |

i min raise very selectively, it's so good for the later stages, people don't know whether to give you credit for AA's if you've never min raised up to that point, and therefore will even fold relatively mid-strong hands. also great for blind play, when in bb, if sb checks to you on a flop with no preflop raising.
