I don't have the hand history right now and am not really feeling like searching for it.
I'm dealt K8 in the BB. There is a MP limper, Button Limps, SB Limps.
Flop A, K, 8 rainbow.
SB Checks, I bet, MP and Button Call, SB Folds
Turn 6, completes the rainbow
I bet, MP calls, Button Folds
River 2
I bet, MP raises, I just call **thinking maybe A2**.
MP shows A4. for a pair of aces with kicker that doesn't even play.
I take down the pot of 9.5 big bets with two pair.
Is calling down then raising on the river witih top pair no kicker a normal play in low limit hold 'em? |

| Practically anything that's horribly EV- is a normal play at the low limit tables. |

| I have seen the wait till the river raise done with both good and bad hands but it is incorrect to place aggression here (for your opponnent) for several reasons. If you want to see a rampant use of this awful move go to AP. As for yourself, you could do no better than what you did and imho its more correct to call a raise on the river than to re-raise with your holdings. BTW, I assume you were playing 9max? Its nice to know a little more detail that what you posted even without the HH available. |

| It was a 9max, but it was 8 handed. I was playing fairly tight, I didn't make any moves, I was sure I was the best player at the table. This was 1/2. The button had seen the turn in every hand he played, the MP player in this case was a pretty passive player from what I had seen, the only time they raised preflop was with JJ or better from what I saw at showdowns. They couldn't lay down these PP's even with overs on the board. Anything else? |

Welcome to our world...Big Slick...
I have seen the river raise bluff a few times and I don't think it has ever worked, seems like the pot is big enough to call one last BB. Other things you mentioned at the 1/2 level are pretty standard for the players at this level. I will say that I am seeing more TAA(Pokertracker rating) players show up at my tables, and I usually give these guys credit for knowing how to play, but you will still see many weak tight players.
Good luck and see ya around... |

At the micros any Ace, any Face, and any two Soooooted are very common starting hands.
Calling stations and passive players also seem to be pretty common.
edit: and let's not forget the any two cards players....just had my pocket kings beat by 52o sigh |

| Micro limit players for the most part play poorly. That's why those games are so easy to beat if you're just patient and play fundamentally good poker. My favorite type of player to play against are the ones who will raise out of any position with any two cards and will continue to show agression throughout the hand. It's usually profitable to call those bets with any pair and sometimes an A or K. They are basically just giving their money away. |

| I should also add that when you are bluffing at micro limits like I just mentioned, that you will also be giving your money away. |
