Seat 4: bigpaps (button) showed [Jd Kc] and lost with a pair of Jacks

Seat 7: FishWitChips (big blind) folded before the Flop
Seat 9: bob2bob didn't bet (folded)
Following this hand the opponent who I drew out on was far from happy and accused me of bad play.
I would appreciate comments but let share my thinking to see if people agree.
I've raised pre-flop in an attempt to steal the blinds and been called. I decided to put all my remaining chips when I saw the flop as my opponent was 2:1 against helping and so I figured to pick up the pot two out of three on pure aggression. I also thought I had seven live outs, the King and the Queen, making me win about 25% of the time if I'm called. On this basis the long rung would be about $2100 to $1800 in my favour.
Although I appreciate I was lucky to draw out was my play as bad as my opponent thought? |

| Well, considering you raised like 3-4 BB's preflop which was 1/3 of your stack. It's either all in or fold on the flop because the amount you have put in. With those cards out there like 9J7, The only real hand he could have to call that raise would be AJ KJ QJ or something in that region. I like the all in play but most of the time you lose here. You got lucky for a pretty good play. more power to ya |

Actually, I think your preflop raise was a mistake, and I think your push wasn't a mistake. You had OK cards, but you were out of position, and had no need for this. The blinds aren't really a threat to you yet, so you over-committed to these cards.
Once committed, the push was fine. It was a bad beat, but your play wasn't terrible. |

Thanks for the feedback guys
In hindsight I tend to agree with you about the pre-flop raise. Just glad that my push didn't indicate that I'd gone totally bonkers.
Cheers |
