I'm in a TEC tournament. I'm 90 out of 154 left from 2500. Top 50 advance to Sun. There are a couple players with over 100,000. I have 12,000. Blinds are going to 200/400 and there was already a 25 ante.
Do I have to start going all in quickly?
How should I play this?

| I'm still barely hanging on. I'm 50th out of 62. I have 20,000. Blinds will go to 1,000/2,000 I think. There's about 5 players less the 6,000 ahead of me. I haven't been able to see any cheap blinds. Someone always raises. I might have to try something or go all in to make one of the 50 who will advance to Sun. I'm not sure what the ante is. Last time I noticed it was 100 but might have been 200 before break. Break is over. |

Congratulations chicagoeddie,
You have been automatically registered for the "TEC Weekly Final" tournament at
This event begins online on Sunday September 11, 2005 at
01:15:00 PM (Eastern).
I got lucky and lasted and finished 37th. I was going up and down from about 47 to 53 for over a half hour. At the end everyone was giving me helpful advice. And the last few hands everyone was letting their time run out waiting for the two lowest players to go broke. I think I was 48th then and in the last couple of hands I somehow finished 37th. Then someone said we didn't have to stall because they don't start the next hand until all 6 tables complete the hand. It was a new experience for me.
Hopefully the 6 hold'em books I ordered at Overstock.com Sat will come by Fri. I think they were shipped Tue. I don't have any idea how many people I will be playing with Sun. I think if I finish good Sun I get a free tournament entry chip + $9 for the fee for a real money tournament.
At the end I was choking up and playing very conservative except for a couple hands. It didn't feel right sitting out most of those hands. But I really didnt have many playable hands anyway. I definitely have to improve before Sun if I want to have any chance to advance. |
