| Bush lovers arent welcome here fiadmin, Im sure they have a forum somewhere...I think Bible.com...where they are hailing Bush and all the other freaks who hide behind Jesus as they kill off our youth or molest kids. Seems to be that most of these replublican freaks are pretty happy that the demons that cause us to gamble online, will soon be excercised from the American people. |
I guess it was a silly of me to figure you could actually read. I was not trying to give the Republicans a free ride, I was trying to point out that Democrats have a piece of this too and we can not let any of the politicians off the hook. |
Nice post fiadmin. Not this one that I'm quoting but the one before that. Remember, some of the forumers are young, naive and are only regurgitating what they've heard their parents say for years. Not to mention, too impatient to read an entire post and quite possibly not have the level of education that they need to have to feasibly debate with you. |

Or I suppose you could charitably look upon it as taking a principled, but ultimately futile, and possibly contra productive, stand.
Same result though.
Ex. Look what voting for Ralph Nader cost people. I am going out on a limb and saying if a 2004 Nader supporter was asked to list his top three Presidential candidates in order, it would of been:
1 - Nader
2 - Kerry
3 - Anyone but Bush
By voting for Nader they got the last guy in the world they wanted.
Very principled though - and I'm not trying to be sarcastic. |

As far as the "Its Republicans! Its Democrats! Its both!" posts, its definately all of them.
Republican, Democrats, and probably even Libertarians (once they were there for awhile) try to take away freedoms.
They might take different ones, but they would all be freedoms lost - even if you might agree on a particular one depending on your political persuation.
Thats why I yearn for gridlock. I want politicans too busy with their hands arround each others throats to do any of the urgent business of government. Business that always seems to make us less free - whether its done by Republicans or Democrats. |

I think Phil Ivey should be our president. Could you imagine his face in some collossal international board meeting on anything?
We'd all be playing poker. |

Constituents, ConSchmituents
I have no specific insight, but THAT never stopped me from rambling, so.....
As with ALL legislation, who or what group does the legislation favor? If you believe that Frist did this for the betterment of the American public, then I have a bridge to sell you. Look where the money comes from. Where did it go? Who gave political donations to Frist and his friends?
As we learned from Woodward and Bernstein, "follow the money". Frist, like most politicians, is merely a pawn to do the bidding of a bigger entity who works behinds the scenes.
Remember, the politicians come and go. The machine that is behind the politicians is the real enemy to freedom. |

Congress has grappled with this issue for 10 years, and during that time we’ve watched this shadow industry explode. For me as majority leader, the bottom line is simple: Internet gambling is illegal. Although we can’t monitor every online gambler or regulate offshore gambling, we can police the financial institutions that disregard our laws.”
- Bill Frist, Republican, Tennessee
The republicans have been fighting this for ten years, which would mean the terrorist aspect of this bill is just a lie since 9-11 happened five years ago. Republicans want to control our lives and for this will never get my vote again.
"Isn't alcoholism a seious addicition? So I guess we should ban alcohol!" |
Hold on there; republicans did not get this through alone......... where were the democrats on this issue. Really, there is little difference between the two major parties anymore. What is funny/ironic is the last sentence "institutions that disregard our laws." The government of Mexico has been helping its citizens disregard US laws for years, yet, neither political party wants to touch this issue in any real way. |

This comment only comes from people who don't pay attention. If you think there are no differences between dems and rep start watching Cspan/Cspan2 and start reading current non-fiction (not that I think all the aderol in the world would give you the attention span to do so) |

As much as I like what she is supposedly saying here. I am fairly certain that this is a voice over.
Edit: I just watched it again and I see now that it is in fact authentic. There was something in the way that she was forming some of her words (maybe the dialect) that threw me off. |

Ok so pretty much what I got after reading this thread:
ALL Republicans are pedophile, money grubbing, freedom taking Nazis. And ALL Dems are tree hugging, baby killing, panzy, fags.
Sheesh. Does everyone realize that there is middle ground. There are those in both parties caught in the middle of this B.S. Don't lump me into either category. I vote both ways as I am a registered independent, and have a strong enough mind and willingness to educate myself on the best choices out there. And that is the key. Until we find away to get some new blood into the legislation atall levels we are continuosly going to be forced to choose between the lesser of two evils
Get educated and vote people!

i've called frist several times this week to express my outrage and i hope alot of others do the same. it's important for him to know how pissed we are even though he doesn't care.
it's frustrating that a self righteous prick like him can affect me in such a way and the only thing i can do is harass his staffers, but harass his staffers i will, every time i have anything to **** about, he's gonna know.
my girlfriend is even gonna call today about the kitten slaughtering incident (last night was the first she'd heard of it). |

Actually, I dont think you will find many Republicans that are happy with the Bush administration.
They were generally looking for lower taxes, a balanced (or surplus) budget, and less government.
Whatever tax cuts we have are ate away by $3 a gallon gas, we have record deficits, a bankrupt government (that one can go to the dems).
I certainly understand the military situation, but to have the government telling us how we can spend our money and what we can do in our limited spare time.........its getting really old.
No, I'm sure you will not find many happy Republicans. |
