It's Tribeca that is going. Hated when he swtiched to Tribeca, now I am sure he is regretting it.
I hope they move to another skin (like UB) so I can avoid a cash out.
... and yes, it does concern me that Doyle's Room is having this issue. However Doyle has not let me down, just Tribeca. |

I posted this in another thread and I'll post it here too. The fact that Doyle's Room worked out a deal to send their customers to FTP is good news for FTP players. It makes it less likely that FTP would boot U.S. players.
Everytime another company boots us, people start talking about how FTP could close down next or they start demanding reassurances from FTP even though they just ignore those reassurances. I think some people just get off on fearmongering. No offense.
Until FTP says or does something that contradicts their earlier statements, I'm going to assume all is well. To do otherwise is pointless. |

| I would like to reiterate my appreciation for Full Tilt's response and information to this new "law". In my opinion, Full Tilt has no equal in customer service and security. None of us currently know what this new law will do to our on line playing with respects to money transfers. I for one wrote my congresswoman multiple times with concerns and opinions concerning on line play. Needless to say the responses to my pointed and specific questions were vague at best. I can only think that someone somewhere is not making any money off Internet gambling. Perhaps they have received pressure from some lobby group. I do know that for a rider to be attached to an unrelated bill (while I sleep) dictating how I conduct myself within my home and with my own money seems very wrong. The problem is that we (The on line players) are the minority. As you all know, this is usually an open and unchecked invitation for Congress to pass laws at will. If this stands, it begs the question "What is next?". |

From my understanding, poker is legal in Los Angeles, because poker falls in the category of a skilled game and not a game of chance. Why is this different online? Maybe the government just wants a piece of the poker pie. |

Its pretty much just like everything else in this socalled "FREE" country,if they cant find a way to tax it!, they just make laws against it!
Its been part of american history since the beginning,ie: prohabition? Gun rights? The war on drugs? Now Online Poker?
WHATS NEXT,speech?

Why was it necessary to tack UIGEA onto SAFE HARBOR ACT, part of the Homeland Security Bill.. oh right, because our govenment wants to shut down money laundering through online gambling.
So more bills proposed suggest taxation of DEPOSITS, WINNINGS AND WITHDRAWALS.
IRS rule in effect MARCH, 2008 taxation of $5,000 or more winnings, whether you withdraw or not. Site must send player W9 (or whichever one it is, lol) as well as IRS. How long before they lower the limits?

It was tacked on there because certain congressmen needed to appease a certain religious group.
So they added it onto the end of a bill which HAD to be passed by a specific deadline.
Protection, money laundering, etc, had absolutely nothing to do with it.

There has always been taxation of gambling profits over a certain amount.
I haven't heard of new laws on taxations, but would guess they would probably just be rewrites of old laws to cover new technology and give congress another chance to screw the general population a bit more.
Which is really kinda stupid...how are you gonna tax online gambling profits if no one can deposit money to play? |
