My experience at the $5 or $10 limits:
Holdem
Most people are no limit players and play limit that way. They will overplay high pairs on coordinated boards. They do not understand why pot odds are good enough to check call on the end with top SECOND pair with high kicker. They don't understand why suited connectors in limit are more valuable than in no limit. They bluff, and way too much.

In the HORSE we played last night, we were at the hold'em section and on every single round I bet, got raised, then I called. Then on the river I bet again and the goof folded! Has to be the single worst play at limit I have EVER seen. Raise EVERY SINGLE bet and then fold to a bet on the river??? And the river wasn't even a scare card, but even if it had been surely you would have to call? This kind of play makes me think I will be playing more HORSE from now on. |

Why did you keep betting every round if you knew you were going to get raised? Surely if your hand was good enough to choose to call 2 bets then you may as well have capped it each time?
But yes I see your point about the donks who don't realise you should usually call the river bet anyway with such a big pot. |

This is something I never understood either. If you bet and I raise you. You just call, now you bet out on the next street when a blank hits. Then I raise again, you just call, then bet out again on the river. I of course raise again, then they either fold or just call. If you're going to keep throwing bets out, you might as well reraise. I've already shown that I'll raise you back. I'd think that your hand must not be strong enough to play capped on every street. And now you're giving me half price to see. |
