Let's just face it, politics is so corrupt at this point that it doesn't even matter. There are zealots on one side, and whimps on the other. Really is there any Democratic candidate that ANYONE is excited about. I haven't felt strongly about anyone on that party since Gore. I think Clark would have been a great president, but unfortunately, he has no support from the rest of the party. Here's hoping Gore tries to make a come back in 2008, but I wouldn't blame him for leaving us to sink in our mess.

Even though the Poker Players Alliance --- http://www.dittus.com/comps/ppa/bod.html
has been fighting for us ... Maybe some of the bigger sites could have kicked in a little more to lobby for us too. Maybe if a tiny percentage of the rake went to lobby? To late now i guess. Whats next? A bill to use the Constitution as asswipe??? I know the Constitution doesnt directly address gambling but it does ...suposedly, insure freedom. The Americans with Disabilties Act also ensures equal access. What about the disabled who have dificulty leaving home? Gettin pretty sick of these religious conservitives taking my freedom! Guess all us "immoral" gamblers have to move ...

Complete and utter BS!!

They make it sound like they won't bust you for playing, they'll just make it harder to get your money in and out. Am I off?

Does this mean we should get our money out while we still can, or just the opposite: load up our accounts since we won't be able to reload in the future?

From what I read they attached the ban to a good bill that was for sure going to get passed. So they weren't really voting for the ban, but for the port security bill. As a stand alone bill, the online gambling ban would have been much closer.

Wrong, the vote in the House WAS on the stand alone bill. It was only attached to port defense in the senate.

There's no reason to believe that will happen. Even the sites that have stopped letting Americans play on them have enacted measures so that they can get their money out.
