Online, I have played .50-1, 1-2, and 2-4. I have taken a few shots at 3-6 and 5-10.
I am currently 4 and 5 tabling .50-1.00 at PP with a bankroll of about $600 bucks. I will plan on moving up to 1-2 when I hit 1k.
I recently took a stab at 2-4 with a short roll, and it did not work out quite so well. I got out of there with about $200. I went in thinking I could withstand the variance with a short roll of only 200BB and I failed...
It looks like you are sticking to good bankroll management...Keep to it, I am now a firm believer in the 500 Big Bet bankroll before moving up. Play it safe when you can no longer afford to rebuy if you go broke...
At my local casino, I play 2-10 and 3-20 spread limit. I have sat down at the 5-60 spread limit game as well(a little out of my comfort zone).
In Vegas, the biggest I have played is 8-16 with a kill at Binions. Otherwise I limit myself to 4-8 or 5-10. |

| Can anyone explain playing "with a kill" to me? I have read it someone, but it was a confusing explanation. |

| a kill button will double the stakes if the same person wins a pot twice or something like that. So if you are playing 4/8 and you win a pot, then win again the stakes double to 8/16. I think thats it, it may be you get the kill button when you simply win a pot. Not sure the purpose but it may be good if people are underrolled and if you have a bankroll because some people will not be able to handle playing for twice the stakes as well. |

I suppose... I was up to $275 as of yesterday morning.. Tilted off $25, then up last night, then lost $20 more today from a combo of getting donked and tilt..
Right now my FTP cashier says $243.85
It seems like you can lose a lot faster than you can bring it in.. heh. Right now I'm looking for a super-micro 7-stud game to play at when I'm tilting on here...

Kill games...
You have to win the pot twice in a row and the pot has to be 5x the big blind to count towards a kill. Here is an example...
5-10 limit, player has just won his second Kill Pot in a row that equaled 5x the BB.
SB posts $2
BB posts $5,
Kill player posts the Kill Blind of $10
SB would have to add 8 to play and BB would have to add 5 more to see flop.
Then the game plays as a 10-20 game until the Kill Player loses a pot, then the kill is reset and one player must win two hands in a row with at least 5 times the BB in it back at the 5-10 limits.
Some Casinos play where the Kill Player buys the button, but not at Binions...The kill player still acts in turn with regard to the button.
I like the game very much. There are not that many kill pots, but they can get exciting when players are playing a couple of big hands...
Most Kill Pots people seem to put people out of their comfort zone, and they usually tighten up. Raising and following with a bet on the flop can usually take down the pot for a nice profit.
Hope that helps... |
